M2 is a pre workout supplement from Mind Muscle Nutrition. It’s a relatively low stim product on label (at least in terms of caffeine) with only a 175 mg yield, but still has a fairly loaded formula. Noteworthy ingredients include 6 g Citrulline Malate, 4 g Beta Alanine, 2 g Glycerol, 1.5 g Tyrosine, 250 mg Eria Jarensis, 100 mg DMHA, and 2.5 mg Alpha Yohimbine, among others.
I only took M2 Pre Workout once, so far, but I absolutely love it and it will DEFINITELY be in my rotation of pre workouts.
I recommend it for anyone who would like to lower their caffeine tolerance, maybe two times a week, and for adept users that have tried pre workouts before.

My Experience
I took M2 just once, but that one time was all that was needed to know that it was incredible. The pumps, focus, mood, and even the energy were incredible. A fully well-rounded product, easily, I’d compare it to OG Sparta Kraken (for anyone who tried that) or Charged AF by Steel Supplements.
Effects
Beta Alanine came in fairly strong, most likely due to the Black Pepper Extract. The tingles started within five minutes and lasted for a good 25-30 minutes. Intensity wise, it was noticeable but not scratching-your-eyes-out type of feeling, about a 7.5 or 8 out of 10.
I felt the energy after about 10 minutes. It wasn’t in your face, it just kept climbing and climbing but stayed smooth. Absolutely zero crash happened. The energy lasted a good four to six hours.
After 15-20 minutes, my focus was unbeatable.felt absolutely zoned in and just wanted to lift.
The pumps were incredible. I felt nice and tight and very “swollen”.
There were no side effects, stomach issues (from such a large scoop), or an uncomfortable feeling.
After the workout, the mood elevation was even stronger. Just felt great!
Flavor
I tried the Blue Slushie flavor. It was semi-chakly, but sweet without a chemical tinge or aftertaste to it. Flavor was a 8 out of 10 or so, only taking marks off due to the chalky-ness. Only one other flavor is included thus far, that being “Orange Smarty”.
Scoop Size
A full serving is approximately 20 grams. It’s roughly 85% of a full scoop. Beware of not doing a level scoop, as it’s 23.56 grams.

Ingredients
Citrulline DL Malate – 6000 mg
Citrulline DL Malate, aka L-Citrulline Malate is one of the most common pre workout ingredients. It has extensive evidence supporting its effects on increasing nitric oxide production, power output, pumps, blood flow, and endurance.
Usually with L-Citrulline Malate, it has a 2:1 Ratio of Citrulline and Malic Acid (hence the Malate), but with M2, it doesn’t state the ratio, so you probably are getting at least 3 g of pure L-Citrulline, which is less than the effective dose of 4 g. But if the ratio is 2:1, then it would give you the 4 gram effective dose.
Beta Alanine – 4,000 mg
Beta alanine has been shown to support muscular endurance and can act as a lactic acid buffer.
However, beta alanine requires regular intake in order to be effective, akin to creatine. Daily supplementation of beta alanine is recommended, with a loading period of three to five weeks needed to be effective.
3 to 4 grams is the recommended daily dosage for beta alanine. M2 is right at the upper echelon with its 4 g dosage, and the tingles were definitely there.
Taurine – 2,000 mg
Taurine is kind of a “miscellaneous” pre workout ingredient with a range of potential, albeit limited, physical benefits. It can aid in blood flow, reduce cramping, and act as a booster to antioxidant defense systems (Examine). It’s a pretty insignificant ingredient in pre workout compared to other ingredients, but doesn’t hurt anything either.
2 grams is a solid dosage of taurine to achieve any effects it has to offer. Usually other products have 500 mg to 2 grams.
Glycerol Monostearate – 3,000 mg
This is the generic form of Glycerol powder found in other pre workouts products. Glycerol powder assists with hydration and allows the body to absorb more water than it normally would. This obviously helps stave off dehydration and can have mild improvements on endurance.
But the real reason glycerol is often included in pre workout supplements is that all of this extra water absorption can help your muscles swell up, giving you a “swole” look.
3 grams is on the higher-end for glycerol. It usually ranges from 2 to 3 grams per serving in good supplements.
One slight side-effect of glycerol is clumping inside of the tub, as it’s hydroscopic and will pull water in, hence why it will give you the swole look. This is to be expected and, while a little annoying, doesn’t negatively impact the efficacy of the supplement.
L-Tyrosine – 1,500 mg
L-Tyrosine helps “smooth out” some of the harsher effects of stimulants and increase focus. Some limited research also shows it can act as a cognitive booster in stressful environments.
1.5 grams is a very solid dosage and lands within the range recommended for use in an exercise setting.
Choline Bitartrate – 500 mg
Choline is included as a focus ingredient. Compared with Alpha GPC, choline bitartrate may not be as effective as a nootropic (source).
The 500 mg of choline bitartrate included is at the lower end, as doses usually range between 500 mg and upwards of 2,000 mg.
Eria Jarensis – 250 mg
Eria Jarensis, aka N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate. Eria Jarensis is a stimulant that is commonly seen alongside DMHA in high stim pre workouts.
250 mg is a respectable dosage for this ingredient. Usual doses range from 150 mg all the way up to 500 mg as found in Flame Pre Workout (which is amazing).
Caffeine Anhydrous – 150 mg
The Grand-Daddy of stimulant supplements. It’s in your coffee, your tea, soda, heck, it may even be in your sweets and gum (some confectioners add caffeine to their sweets for a kick). Well known for increasing energy, power, and focus, it’s the staple ingredient in all stim-based products.
150 mg is a relatively low dose for pre-workout supplements, but I still had great energy with this.
Note: The total yield of caffeine is actually 175 mg when the caffeine citrate is factored in.
2-aminoisoheptane – 100 mg
2-aminoisoheptane, aka, DMHA, Kigelia Africana, Juglans Regia (J. Regia), Octodrine, and Dimethylhexylamine. DMHA is a stimulant, similar to DMAA, known for boosting energy, focus, and mood.
100 mg is a pretty low dose, however, just because it says something on the label doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll “feel” it. You will definitely feel it here.
Teacrine – 100 mg
Teacrine, the patented form of Theacrine, is often taken to help minimize the negative effects of caffeine, similar to L-Tyrosine.
Per this study, teacrine increased the running time-to-exhaustion, giving you more endurance, no increase in heart rate, and even reduced reaction time, increasing your focus. A 100 mg yield is the effective dose, and we are unsure if the 100 mg in M2 is the yield, or before the yield of 40% (which would make it a yield of just 40 mg).
Caffeine Citrate – 50 mg
Caffeine citrate is a faster acting version of caffeine when compared to caffeine anhydrous. As such, it also wears off more quickly. It is definitely interesting to see this ingredient included, as it is not very common in supplements. Some popular pre workouts, like Wrecked Extreme, have notably included this ingredient in recent formulations.
Caffeine Citrate is usually 50% Caffeine and 50% Citric Acid, so 50 mg included will yield 25 mg of caffeine, giving M2 a total caffeine yield of 175 mg.
Synephrine – 50 mg
Synephrine is a well-researched ingredient that has been shown to aid in weight loss.
“In general, bitter orange extract alone (p-synephrine) or in combination with other herbal ingredients did not produce significant adverse events such as an increase in heart rate or blood pressure, or alter electrocardiographic data, serum chemistry, blood cell counts or urinalysis. p-Synephrine alone as well as in combination products were shown to increase resting metabolic rate and energy expenditure, and modest increases in weight loss were observed with bitter orange extract/p-synephrine-containing products when given for six to 12 weeks.”
50 mg of synephrine found in M2 is a decent dosage for fat burning effects.
Bioperine [Black Pepper] – 5 mg
Also known as black pepper extract, Bioperine is the trademarked version of the ingredient, and acts to increase the bioavailability of nutritional supplements. In other words, it helps your body absorb all the ingredients in the product. As the serving size increases, so does the need for a digestion aid like Bioperine. Doses usually range from 5 mg to 15 mg.
Alpha Yohimbine [99%] – 2.5 mg
Alpha Yohimbine, also known as “alpha yo,” is a love it or hate it stimulant. Some individuals are particularly sensitive to alpha yohimbine and avoid any pre workout with it outright. Common negative side effects can include anxiety, headaches, sweating, frequent urination, and increased blood pressure.
2.5 mg is a high dose, and those who are sensitive to alpha yohimbine will certainly not want to take M2, or at least start with half a scoop.
Huperzine-A – 0.05 mg (aka 50 mcg) per serving
Like Choline, Huperzine A is a cholinergic that acts as a cognitive enhancer. It tends to be taken in doses of 50 mcg to 200 mcg, so the dose found in M2 just hits the efficacious dose. As an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, It helps lengthen the half-life of cholinergic sources (Examine) and will keep your focus longer.
