Alpha Lion steps up their game with Super Human Extreme, the most potent stimulant-based formulation of their pre-workout collection. Patented, unique, and clinically dosed ingredients make this product a strong contender on the market. Thank you, Jake, with Nutricartel, for providing this product for my review! I recommend this product for individuals looking to elevate their workouts through superior pumps, energy, strength, and quality. Notable ingredients include SXT Energy, a tri-blend of caffeine; S7, a potent pump formula; and Yohimbe, a powerful energy ingredient.
Super Human Extreme was a great pre-workout that provided lasting energy and strength while training. Alpha Lion is a very popular brand with a great cause that offers a money-back guarantee on their website, which is something we can get behind!

Experience
Soon after ingesting this product, I felt pleasant and intense tingles, which started around my ears and moved to the sides of my head. Within 15 minutes, I felt a sense of urgency, energy, and focus.
While at the gym, I felt that “tail light” focus that causes time to move slowly. Jitters were felt a few times, as detailed under side effects, but having eaten, that feeling was lessened, and urgency increased.
At the start of my workout, I felt incredible energy, and the flushed feeling made warming up a breeze. Regarding cardio workouts, Super Human Extreme was an improvement over similar products as the product provided the focus and energy I needed to keep going. After 45 minutes, the second wave of energy remained strong. I experienced acute mood elevation and overall happiness. With a developed mind-to-muscle connection, I could feel a muscular contraction which led to excellent pumps.
This wasn’t the first product containing S7 that I had reviewed, so I knew this ingredient would help elevate the pump ingredients. With the pumps being very muscular and complete, I felt tightness, allowing me to hit 10-12 reps before feeling uncomfortable. That isn’t to say I didn’t also have endurance, but the pumps were so strong that I had to stop super-setting. Lastly, the vascularity was incredible, as it radiated throughout my forearms, wrapping around my biceps. I could see increased vascularity in my quadriceps as well during leg days. Overall, I had a great experience with this product.
Side Effects
When taking this product on an empty stomach, I experienced nausea from Yohimbe. Being that I regularly use pre-workouts while fasting, it was very noticeable. Since it wasn’t an enjoyable side effect, I tried to have something on my stomach, which helped.
The second side effect was somewhat positive. Being Yohimbe is an aphrodisiac, also known as a sex stimulant, it very much gave a drive for that sensation. Being married, this wasn’t an issue but an enjoyable side effect. However, it did cause a few workouts to end earlier than expected.
Flavor
Screamsicle 2 is the flavor I reviewed, which is a seasonal strawberry creamsicle. It is a very delicious flavor, with an intense strawberry flavor that finishes with a creamy taste. It is similar to candy gummy strawberries. The instructions recommend 4-6 ounces of water per ½ serving, which means close to 12 ounces for the ideal flavor. I varied this based on whether I was fasting. It tasted best with 16 ounces. The seasonal flavor idea is excellent, as it is something I look forward to going into a season of the year, changing themes, routines, and supplements. In addition, there was a lot of sediment in the bottom of the shaker, so you will need to swirl and knock it back.
Dose/Scoop Size
The ingredient profile is formulated for a whole serving, aka one scoop, which on the scale was a slightly rounded scoop, as seen in the picture below. Based on your sensitivity for Yohimbe or Alpha Yohimbe, you might want to dose below a whole serving as the effects were quite strong. I had one whole serving for each use, as the other ingredients’ effectiveness outweighed Yohimbe’s negatives.
Ingredients
Super Human Extreme is the highest stimulant pre-workout formulation from Alpha Lion, providing a unique and strong approach compared to their other offerings. It isn’t uncommon for a company to offer different strengths for their products, which are formulated based on the caffeine tolerances for users; however, this product is a completely different formulation. Depending on your tolerance for Yohimbe and Alpha Yohimbine, you might want to look elsewhere, as you get 2 mg of the latter and 5 mg of the former. I was very impressed with the performance of this product.
L-Citrulline – 4 g
L-Citrulline is one of the most common pre-workout ingredients. It has extensive evidence supporting its ability to increase nitric oxide production, power output, pumps, blood flow, and endurance.
The common ratio is 2:1 malate acid; however, we are given the pure form, which is preferred. The clinically studied dosage would be 6-8 grams of L-Citrulline Malate in a 2:1 ratio, providing nearly 4-6 grams of L-Citrulline, which this product satisfies.
L-Taurine – 1 g
Taurine is a common ingredient with many positive effects, such as enhanced physical performance, improved DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness), improved blood pressure via higher cardiac output, possible reduction of cholesterol and triglyceride levels, increased uptake of glycogen to mitochondria for energy utilization (Examine).
Taurine supplementation might block the uptake of Beta-Alanine as they are antagonistic, which wouldn’t be an issue if used aside from pre-workout. It is not commonly known that Beta-Alanine/Carnosine is a taurine-depleting antagonist (Examine). A 1 g Taurine dose is adequate (1-6 grams per day in studies); however, more would amplify the benefits.
S7 – 50 mg
S7 is a patented blend of seven plant-based ingredients (green coffee bean extract, green tea extract, turmeric extract, tart cherry, blueberry, broccoli, and kale) that has been shown to increase nitric oxide production and promote pumps. 50 mg is the recommended starting dosage for this ingredient.
Black Pepper Extract – 10 mg
Black pepper extract increases the bioavailability of nutritional supplements. In other words, it helps your body absorb all the ingredients in the product. As the serving size increases, so does the need for a digestion aid like black pepper extract. Doses usually range from 5 mg to 15 mg. The quantity in Super Human Extreme is within the usual range.
Beta-Alanine – 3.2 g
Beta-Alanine has been shown to support muscular endurance and act as a lactic acid buffer.
However, beta-alanine requires regular intake to be effective, akin to creatine. Daily supplementation of beta-alanine is recommended, with a loading period of three to five weeks, to become effective.
3 to 4 grams is the recommended daily dosage for beta-alanine, putting Super Human Extreme in the standard range of clinical dosages.
Betaine Anhydrous – 2.5 g
Betaine increases your power output. However, research is pretty inconsistent around this claim. Regular betaine anhydrous dosages range from 1.5 g to 5 g with daily supplementation.
L-Tyrosine – 1.5 g
L-Tyrosine has been shown to boost cognitive performance in stressful environments. It is typically included in pre-workouts as a focus ingredient.
1.5 g is an upper-range dosage of L-Tyrosine that should also help achieve its anti-stress effects. It is beyond the upper bound of the typical dosage range (500 mg to 2,000 mg) for exercise.
SXT Energy System – 420 mg
SXT is Alpha Lion’s tri-caffeine blend for quick energy that delivers throughout your workout, providing a spike in the midrange and tapering off slowly at the end. While it doesn’t specify if it is Dicaffeine Malate, it uses zumXR extended-release caffeine and delayed-release caffeine.
SantEnergy Nu – 400 mg
The only information I can find on this ingredient is from the patented manufacturer, so take it with a grain of salt. “SantEnergy Nu is a polyphenol-rich, high-quality plant extract from Santa Herba. Clinical results show significant weight and body fat loss, while nutrition and exercise habits remained the same as before the trial. SantEnergy Nu is the perfect ingredient for nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, and functional foods.” (Source)
CogniUp – 100 mg
CogniUp is a tri-blend of focus ingredients. We don’t know the dosages outside of the blend amount. Huperzine A is cholinergic and acts as a cognitive enhancer. Doses in other pre-workouts tend to be 50 mcg to 200 mcg. As an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, it helps lengthen the half-life of cholinergic sources (such as Alpha GPC, Citicoline, and CDP Choline), which aren’t in this product but are produced in our bodies (Examine) and keep your focus longer.
Hedera Helix Extract – 100 mg
Hederagenin is a novel triple inhibitor of monoamine transporters and acts as a Serotonin (5-HT), Norepinephrine (NE), and Dopamine (DA) reuptake inhibitor.
Yohimbe Extract – 5 mg
Yohimbe stimulant is a very popular ingredient in many supplements. It has a variety of uses and can serve as an appetite suppressant, fat burner, aphrodisiac, mood elevator, and performance and focus ingredient. Yohimbe is a tree that is native to central and western Africa, and the bark of the tree produces an alkaloid called yohimbine. Depending on the quality of the extract, which is stated to be 98% on the label, it can be very potent, so dosing varies with different products or brands.
Alfabin (Rauwolfia Vomitoria, Alpha Yohimbe) – 2 mg
Rauwolfia Vomitoria Extract, otherwise known as Alpha Yohimbine, or simply “alpha yo,” is a “love it or hate it” stimulant. Some individuals are particularly sensitive to alpha yohimbine and avoid any pre-workout with it outright. Common adverse side effects include anxiety, headaches, sweating, frequent urination, and increased blood pressure. The dosing for this ingredient is typically seen as 0.5 mg to 3 mg, as it is typically more potent than other extracts.

Super Human Extreme by Alpha Lion 46.95
Super Human Extreme by Alpha Lion
Super Human Extreme was a great pre-workout that provided lasting energy and strength while training. Although I think this was an effective formulation, those sensitive to Yohimbe might want to use a different product, as it contains a strong extract. With the formula being dosed for a full serving, I wouldn’t recommend this product at a half serving, but rather wish the brand would reduce the Yohimbe or take out the alpha Yohimbe. Alpha Lion is a very popular brand with a great cause that offers a money-back guarantee on their website, which is something I can get behind.
