What is the difference between turkesterone and laxogenin?

The main difference between turkesterone and laxogenin is that turkesterone has been researched more than laxogenin. Additionally, turkesterone is an ecdysteroid, whereas laxogenin is a brassinosteroid.

Turkesterone and laxogenin supplements both boast enhanced strength, increased muscle, and faster recovery. Taken separately or together, they can be a more natural alternative to prohormones.

What Is Turkesterone?

Turkesterone is an ecdysteroid, a steroid found in plants and arthropods. Foods like spinach, yams, chestnuts, and quinoa contain a small amount of turkesterone. Research has shown ecdysteroids to be effective in enhancing performance and building muscle.

Benefits of Turkesterone

Some of the benefits reported by people using turkesterone include:

  • Increased gain of lean muscle mass
  • Enhanced strength
  • Speedier muscle recovery

Most users report that they can see results within a week of beginning use.

What Turkesterone Does

Turkesterone has been the object of few studies, but they have shown that it may help promote the metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids, which can help with fat loss and weight management. It also seems to promote protein synthesis.

In studies on both animals and humans, the effects were not large when compared to the use of synthetic substances. But if you’re looking for a supplement from a natural source, turkesterone shows promise.

Some additional studies on ecdysteroids show that turkesterone increases the retention of nitrogen. This retention can improve the protein metabolism profile and promote growth. However, it is important to note that these studies have not been performed on humans yet.

Turkesterone Dosing and Side Effects

There is minimal scientific consensus on the dosage of turkesterone. Some anecdotal evidence suggests that 1000 mg daily and even up to 2000 mg is safe in humans. Some manufacturers recommend 500 to 1,000 mg daily. However, it is best to be cautious and keep your dosage to less than 10mg/kg of body weight.

The body metabolizes ecdysteroids very easily, and as little as 30 mg daily was found to show results in one study.

No serious side effects have been reported with turkesterone use, but unpleasant side effects can include:

  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Stomach upset
  • Digestive problems
  • Lightheadedness
  • Lethargy

Turkesterone can be stacked with other supplements, including:

  • Fat loss supplements
  • Testosterone boosters
  • Growth hormone boosters
  • Estrogen blockers

Downsides of Turkesterone

Some of the possible downsides of turkesterone to be aware of before taking it include:

  • Lack of consistent research
  • Mixed information regarding potential side effects

What Is Laxogenin?

Laxogenin often called the “plant steroid,” is a chemical that stimulates growth within plants. It is part of the class of plant hormones brassinosteroids. It is taken orally to build muscle and increase strength.

Reported Benefits of Laxogenin

It is important to note that there are no human studies that prove the effectiveness of laxogenin, but users report benefits such as:

  • Lean muscle growth
  • Improved body composition
  • Increased strength and stamina
  • Faster recovery
  • Better protein synthesis

What Laxogenin Does

Laxogenin increases protein synthesis by 200% and also increases nitrogen retention. At the same time, it decreases protein breakdown and lowers cortisol levels.

Laxogenin differs from prohormones in that it doesn’t interfere with the endocrine system. You should see no change in hormones such as testosterone, which stimulates the androgen receptors.

Dosing and Side Effects of Laxogenin

The best dosage of laxogenin varies by person and their goals, but the best dosage is around 100 mg daily. Splitting doses between mornings and evenings can be beneficial.

After starting use, it takes 1-2 weeks to begin to see any effects.

The side effects of laxogenin appear to be quite rare and include only minor headaches. This effect was seen solely after taking high doses. More research should reveal the cause of this side effect.

Laxogenin will not produce the same results as a prohormone, but it can be a good option for a natural alternative without the side effects. However, you should be aware that most supplements contain the synthetic version 5a-hydroxy laxogenin, or laxosterone, rather than natural laxogenin.

Potential Downsides of Laxogenin

Consider these potential downsides before beginning the use of laxogenin:

  • Little research and no clinical trials
  • Potential for side effects
  • Lack of safety profile
  • The synthetic version used in most products

Stacking Laxogenin and Turkesterone

If you’re looking for the benefits from both laxogenin and turkesterone, you’re in luck. The two can be taken together and work synergistically to enhance strength and increase protein synthesis, muscle endurance, and lean muscle mass.

A laxogenin and turkesterone stack can be your natural answer to gain muscle mass and prevent muscle breakdown. The two supplements are also easy to combine in your fitness routine.

Turkesterone and laxogenin also work well together with cycles of 6-12 weeks on and 2-4 weeks off. Neither requires post-cycle therapy. Because of this, you can take them together and never worry about the different schedules of the two.

How Are They Different?

Turkesterone has been researched more than laxogenin has. Turkesterone is an ecdysteroid, whereas laxogenin is a brassinosteroid.

How Are They Similar?

Both turkesterone and laxogenin are meant to enhance performance, increase muscle mass, and speed your recovery.

They can both be taken in similar cycles, and neither requires post-cycle therapy. Both are considered a natural alternative to prohormones and have fewer reported side effects.

Make an Informed Decision

When choosing turkesterone vs. laxogenin, there is a lot of information to take in. Most of that information is the experience of other people who have used it, and very little is from true scientific studies.

Nevertheless, both supplements are largely considered safe and have few reported side effects that were experienced by only a small percentage of users. Among those taking these supplements, the reports were mostly positive.

When deciding for yourself whether to take laxogenin or turkesterone or whether to take them together, make sure you’re informed and talk to a health professional about any health conditions you may have.
