Madhouse Innovations didn’t disappoint with their pre-workout, and their fat burner promises a similarly quality experience. Lean Appeal features a similar, stimulant profile as their pre-workout, so if you enjoyed that one, this will be right up your alley.
The fat burner provides great energy and suppresses appetite with slight thermogenic effects and some mood enhancement. Utilizing this product on a daily basis allows you more leverage when it comes to diet and nutrition, as you will be able to sustain a calorie deficit.

Experience
Within the first 15 minutes, my energy and breathing increased slightly. After 45 minutes, a short plateau fooled me into thinking everything had peaked. After an hour and 30 minutes, I felt increased levels of energy from a ratingl of 5 to an 8 out of 10. My breathing improved, and I felt more cardiovascular endurance.
The improved breathing could be from the diuretic effect of the stimulants, based on an increased frequency of urination. Diuretics removes the extra fluid that may surround your lungs, improving the loading and unloading of oxygen in your bloodstream.
I experienced appetite suppression, susained energy, and a good amount of focus around 5/10. Being this is a fat burner, you don’t have to be cracked out to feel the effects. Your tolerance will increase from consistent, sustained usage, and you will need more caffeine to feel similar effects. During my review of this product I did not notice much of a tolerance increase, as I typically only ran this after waking.
After two hours and 30 minutes, I felt relaxed and my mood enhanced. We are given 30 servings at the two-capsule dosage, so this is a mild energy thermogenic product that many people can enjoy, including beginners.
Side Effects
This is a hardcore fat burner energy pill; if you try to abuse or overuse it, you will experience issues. While using this product, I didn’t experience any adverse effects.
Dose/Serving Size
The serving size is two capsules once tolerance is assessed. The total serving amount (2 pills) adds up to 999 mg of active ingredients. This brings the total mg weight of a serving to 1406 mg on average.
I took one capsule twice daily for most of this product, but, occasionally, I did ingest two at a time. I felt the effects were potent enough for one capsule twice daily, and I could evaluate it effectively. This was less effective as a fat burner, and it was great as an energy pill. It could be added into a stack with a non-stimulant or low-dosed pre-workout. One issue with taking a fat burner and pre-workout is caffeine or stimulants, so we recommend combining this with a non-stimulant product.

Ingredients
Fat-burning products vary in formulation, which typically are mostly stimulants that help suppress the appetite or will have ingredients known for suppressing on their own. Mad House made this product with both pathways in a balanced amount on both ends. I like this straightforward label’s simplicity, but it isn’t lightweight either. These heavy-hitting compounds will give you plenty of energy, thermogenic effects, and appetite suppression. The dosages are right on the high-efficiency level for fat burners, and the purity of the DMHA is very potent.

Niacin – 25 mg
Niacin, also known as vitamin B3, has a wide array of benefits, ranging from increasing HDL cholesterol (the “good” cholesterol) concentrations, reducing LDL cholesterol concentrations, and reducing the concentration of triglycerides.
Some research shows niacin can increase blood flow through various mechanisms. The study is limited and conflicted, so niacin is rarely included in pre-workouts.
Niacin also helps your body produce optimal amounts of ATP, the energy source for muscle contraction. Thus, ensuring you have enough Niacin is a worthwhile endeavor for a pre-workout supplement.
25 mg of niacin is a slightly higher dose. It is more than the recommended daily dosage for men (16 mg per day) and women (14 mg per day), but you should also be able to get this from a healthy diet. Good sources of niacin include fish, beef, chicken, turkey, mushrooms, and brown rice.
Caffeine Anhydrous – 300 mg
Caffeine anhydrous is the standard form of caffeine, known for increasing energy, alertness, and motivation, reducing the perception of fatigue, and improving concentration and mood. It is a powdered form of caffeine commonly used as a supplement and in various products, including energy drinks, pre-workout supplements, and over-the-counter medications. “Anhydrous” means without water, so caffeine anhydrous is essentially dehydrated caffeine, typically a white, odorless, and bitter-tasting powder.
The caffeine content varies for each product. 350-450 range is the typical dosage for sports supplements, 200-300 for fat burners, and some products may contain other forms or stimulants. Caffeine works by blocking the action of adenosine, a neurotransmitter that promotes relaxation and sleepiness. This increases the release of neurotransmitters like dopamine and norepinephrine, which contribute to heightened alertness.
Less is more, as your dependency will lead to diminishing returns as you increase your intake. The overall combination of many factors, such as sleep, when you take caffeine, diet, and nutrition, affect how much you will need. Recent attention on caffeine consumption within 90 minutes of waking has been given by Dr. Andrew Hubberman, who said it causes the delay of clearing of adenosine. Ingestion of caffeine upon waking will likely produce a mid-day crash, according to his research, so plan your consumption accordingly.
DMHA – 200 mg
This is the “natural” form of DMHA, a stimulant similar to DMAA, which boosts energy, focus, performance enhancers, thermogenic (fat-burning) aids, and mood. DMHA shares similar effects as DMAA but requires a larger dosage. This made it a popular pre-workout ingredient for replacing DMAA in DMHA pre-workout supplements.
It comes in many different forms: juglans regia extract, English walnut extract, 2-aminoisoheptane, kigelia africana, octodrine, 2-amino-5-methylhexane, 2-amino-6-methylheptane, 6-amino-2-methylheptane, 2-isooctyl amine, 2-heptylamine, 6-methyl-, 2-metil-6-amino-eptano, amidrine, vaporpac, 1,5-DMHA, and 1,5-dimethylhexylamine. Read about the comparison of DMAA vs. DMHA here.
This product’s dosage is 200 mg, above the industry standard, but varies based on the product. However, just because it says something on the label doesn’t necessarily mean you will always “feel” it due to different sourcing purities. It isn’t often at all anymore to find this ingredient with DMAA, so try lightly if you are not used to hardcore supplements like this.
L-Tyrosine – 200 mg
L-tyrosine boosts cognitive performance in stressful environments. Pre-workouts include it as a focus ingredient and help achieve anti-stress effects. The typical dosage range is 500 mg to 2,000 mg for exercise, and due to the higher dosage needed, we typically don’t see it in fat burners like this. I feel this is just a little extra ingredient, like a bonus; thus, the lower dosage is okay.
L-tyrosine is a naturally occurring amino acid and a precursor to several important neurotransmitters and hormones in the body. It plays a significant role in producing dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine, which regulate mood, stress response, physical performance, and cognitive function.
Bacopa Monnieri Extract – 150 mg
Bacopa Monniere is an herb that may reduce stress & anxiety and improve brain function. At the same time, there is some exciting research surrounding its usage as a supplement. Further research is needed to understand its effects better.
Bacopa extract is a supplement derived from the leaves of Bacopa monnieri, a plant commonly known as Brahmi or water hyssop. Bacopa monnieri is native to India and has been used for centuries in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for its potential cognitive and adaptogenic properties.
Here are some benefits of bacopa extract: cognitive benefits, adaptogenic properties for anti-stress, antioxidant effects, and neuroprotection. The recommended dosage can vary depending on the product and intended use. Dosages commonly range from 300 to 600 mg daily, although higher doses are sometimes used in clinical studies.
Green Tea Leaf Extract 50% – 100 mg
GCG (epigallocatechin gallate) is a plant-based compound called catechin. Catechins are natural phenols and antioxidants with a wide array of effects. Familiar sources include white tea extract and green tea extract. It’s often simply referred to as green tea extract.
EGCG acts as a fat burner by inhibiting catechol-0-methyltransferase (COMT), an enzyme that degrades catecholamines. By inhibiting COMT, catecholamine levels elevate. Catecholamines help break down fat stores. By inhibiting COMT, EGCG allows catecholamines to do their thing for extended periods, leading to increased levels of fat removal.
In terms of dosage, most people should aim for 400 to 500 mg of green tea extract per day.
Caloriburn Grains of Paradise Extract – 10 mg
Grains of Paradise, also known as aframomum melegueta, is a spice that belongs to the ginger family (Zingiberaceae). It is sometimes referred to as Melegueta, alligator, or Guinea pepper. Grains of Paradise are native to West Africa, particularly regions like Nigeria, Ghana, and the Ivory Coast. This spice has a long history of use in traditional medicine and culinary applications.
Grains of Paradise has some promising research but needs additional evidence to support its fat loss effects. With that said, some exciting research shows it can activate brown adipose tissue, which can help increase a body’s metabolism, burning more calories. At 12.5% 6-Paradol, the 20 mg dosage is the same used in human clinical trials that have shown up to a 5% increase in energy expenditure (source).
Traditionally, it has been used in herbal medicine for its potential digestive and anti-inflammatory properties. It has also been used as an aphrodisiac and to treat various ailments, although scientific evidence supporting these claims is limited.
Black Pepper Extract (95% Piperine) – 10 mg
Black pepper extract, or bioperine, is a patented ingredient that increases the bioavailability of nutritional supplements. In other words, it helps your body absorb more of the ingredients in the product, which allows the effectiveness of the ingredients. As the serving size increases, so does the need for a digestion aid. Typically, you only find it dosed at 5 mg, but manufacturers sometimes double it.
Bioperine is a trademarked name for a patented extract of black pepper (Piper nigrum) standardized to contain a high concentration of piperine. Piperine is the active component responsible for black pepper’s intense and spicy flavor. It primarily enhances the body’s bioavailability of various nutrients and substances. It achieves this by inhibiting certain digestive and liver enzymes that break down these compounds, allowing them to remain in the bloodstream for extended periods and be more effectively absorbed.
Yohimbine HCl – 4 mg
This is a popular ingredient in many supplements. It has a variety of uses and can serve as an appetite suppressant, fat burner, aphrodisiac, mood elevator, and performance and focus ingredient. Yohimbe is a tree native to central and western Africa, and the bark of the tree produces an alkaloid called yohimbine. Depending on the quality of the extract, it can be very potent, so dosing varies with different products or brands.
This isn’t to be confused with alpha yo (rauwolfia vomitoria extract). Some individuals are more susceptible to alpha yohimbine and avoid any pre-workout with it outright. Common adverse side effects include anxiety, headaches, sweating, frequent urination, and increased blood pressure.
Lean Appeal PRO Fat Burner Review
Summary
I expected this product to deliver a less potent experience, but like many newer startups this year, it delivered stronger than expected. While some dosages are not clinical, they are effective for fat-burning caloric management. I recommend this product for anyone looking to help keep off excess weight gain or drop pounds if needed. I think this product worked well as a diuretic effect, which can help with fluid retention and cutting.
