Aggro is a gaming supplement made by PWND, the gaming supplement offshoot of Chaos and Pain. Some also consider Aggro to be a pre workout supplement, though it was not designed for that specific purpose.

Chaos and Pain was kind enough to send me a tub to review for you all and I’ve been testing it out over the last month or so.

The verdict?

It’s excellent.

Aggro is perfect for me because I work from home and need an extra boost to keep going, especially in the afternoon. Aggro does an exceptional job of helping me stay motivated throughout the day and focused on the task at hand.

My Experience with Aggro

I’m about halfway through my tub of Aggro, so I’ve used it a good 15 times or so. I almost always use it in the context of working from home and I love it.

Aggro provides clean energy, focus, and a sense of wellbeing. When I’m working from home or doing other work that requires focus, I don’t need a ton of caffeine or crazy stims. At the same time, I have an above average caffeine tolerance so I need something that’s effective and not too weak.

Aggro delivers for me, plain and simple.

It’s a step up from coffee, but I don’t feel like I need to get to the gym ASAP in order to burn off the extra energy. I just feel good.

Flavor

I have the popsicle flavor and it’s nice. I think the lion’s mane gives it a somewhat chalky texture and makes it a little harder than normal to dissolve, but I honestly am used to it and it doesn’t bother me.

If you add some extra water it’s not a problem and for me it’s worth it.

Side Effects

No negative side effects! It’s very clean energy and wears off without an energy crash.

Aggro Ingredients Label

Here is the ingredients label for Aggro gaming supplement.

Pwnd Aggro Ingredients Label
Pwnd Aggro Ingredients Label

N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine (NALT) – 1,000 mg

’This is one of my few gripes with Aggro. I’d love to see them use pure L-Tyrosine instead of NALT.

While L-Tyrosine is a great ingredient for enhancing focus and reducing stress, NALT (N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine) is less bioavailable then pure L-Tyrosine. Going with L-Tyrosine in a future version, alongside Alpha GPC instead of Choline Bitartrate, would be very interesting.

Transparent Labs claims that “…the acetylation improves the absorption and effective period of L-Tyrosine…”, but Examine claims there is “limited practical evidence on NALT as an alternative to L-Tyrosine.”

Lion’s Mane Mushroom Extract – 750 mg

Lion’s Mane (yamabushitake) is a relatively new nootropic on the scene, with some research supporting anti-anxiety, cognition boosting, and well-being effects.

According to Examine, there has only been a single human study of Lion’s Mane and the individuals took 1 gram orally three times a day. While that dosage appeared effective, it is unknown if this was optimal.

Aggro contains 750 mg of lion’s mane and there isn’t enough research available to determine if this is an effective dose. More research is needed for this particular ingredient, but it is promising.

Anecdotally, this is a pretty solid dose (depending upon the quality and purity of the ingredient source).

KSM-66 (Organic Ashwaganda) – 500 mg

KSM-66 is a patented form of ashwagandha. Ashwagandha is a herb native to Northern Africa and India that’s been in use as a medicine for thousands of years.

According to research meta analysis performed by Examine, ashwagandha has consistently shown to notably reduce anxiety and cortisol, the stress hormone. It has also shown to consistently produce a notable increase in power output. Nice.

The clinical dosage of ashwagandha is 300-500 mg, so the 500 mg included in each serving of Aggro is excellent!

And because they’re using KSM-66, you know it’s a high quality ingredient.

Caffeine Anhydrous – 250 mg

Caffeine anhydrous is the standard form of caffeine found in coffee, energy drinks, and most pre workout supplements.

250 mg is a very reasonable dosage. Those who have no existing caffeine sensitivity may find it helpful to start with a half scoop, but most folks will be just fine with a full scoop.

Like I said above, this is enough to get me going, but not so much that I’m jittery or anxious.

Zeaxanthin from Marigold – 26 mg

Zeaxanthin is sourced from marigold, which is also a naturally occurring source of lutein (below). Zeaxanthin is a carotenoid that helps protect the eyes against damaging light exposure and reduces oxidative stress.

There currently is no recommended dosage for zeaxanthin, so it’s hard to say if the 26 mg included in Aggro is helpful or not.

Bioperine – 20 mg

Bioperine is just a patented form of black pepper extract. It helps your body absorb nutrients (i.e. all of the stuff in Aggro).

Stearoyl Vanillylamide – 20 mg

Stearoyl Vanillylamide is a capsaicin, meaning it occurs naturally in hot peppers.

It is said to enhance adrenaline and noradrenaline, though more research is needed to understand the accuracy of these claims.

Lutein – 8 mg

Found alongside zeaxanthin in nature, lutein is also a carotenoid that helps protect eye health. This can be helpful when spending long hours gaming (or staring at spreadsheets).

According to Verywell Health, consuming up to 20 mg of lutein per day from a combination of diet and supplementation “seems to be safe.”
