My Experience
I took this a few times for full-body workouts and it surprised me.
Effects
The main effects on display here are mood and surprisingly pumps. With the combination of 200 mg DMBA, 100 mg DMHA, and 100 mg Theobromine with the 350 mg Caffeine, I was in a feel-good zone.
Usually the pumps suffer with high stim products, but with 6 g L-Citrulline and 1.5 g Glycerol the pumps are tight and strong.
Although without a digestion aid such as Black Pepper or Astragin, the Beta Alanine tingles begin within 5 minutes or so. Like most Beta Alanine tingles, it got me motivated to start moving and begin my workout. These lasted until about 5-10 minutes or so into my workout. The tingles don’t come in very strong, just smoothly.
The sense of urgency and energy with Demolish is smooth without any noticeable crash.
Demolish had no side effects for me. The 2.5 mg Alpha Yohimbine is smooth without the chills, rapid heartbeat, or dribbly mouth some get. There were no digestion, stomach, or anxiety issues. Although, those sensitive to Alpha Yo should probably start with half a serving just to be safe.
Flavor
The flavor I tried was Cherry Limeade. Even with the stims and Glycerol, the flavor was fairly good. Also comes in “Tropical Punch”, “Blue Tropical”, “Pineapple Mango”, and the ol’ reliable “Rocket Pop”, so you’ve got a variety to choose from.
Scoop Size
A full serving is 14.1 grams, It’s about 3 quarters of a full scoop as shown, so fairly overdosed in the scoop department. You are given 25 servings, which is in between the more common 20 and 30 servings you commonly see in pre-workout products.
Ingredients
L-Citrulline – 6,000 mg
L-Citrulline is an amino acid that turns into L-arginine in the kidneys. Consuming L-Citrulline improves nitric oxide metabolism, increasing endurance for aerobic and anaerobic exercise, along with reducing fatigue. It is a classic “pump” ingredient and 6 grams is a great dosage. Most doses of L-Citrulline range from 3 g to 5 g. Read more on Examine.
Beta Alanine – 3,200 mg
This is the standard dosage for beta alanine, which, taken consistently, has been shown to improve muscular endurance by acting as a lactic acid buffer in muscles. This is the ingredient that gives you the “tingles.”
Glycerol Monostearate (92% Pure) – 1,500 mg
The generic form of Glycerol powder found in other pre-workouts products. Glycerol powder assists with hydration and allows the body to absorb more water than it normally would. This obviously helps stave off dehydration and can have mild improvements on endurance.
But the real reason it is often included in pre workout supplements is that all of this extra water absorption can help your muscles swell up, giving you a “swole” look.
1.5 grams is a slightly low dosage for glycerol. It usually ranges from 2 to 3 grams per serving in good supplements.
One slight side-effect of glycerol is clumping inside of the tub, though I’ve had mine for about 4 months or so and I’ve had very minimal clumping.
Caffeine – 350 mg
Caffeine anhydrous is the typical form of caffeine, well known for increasing energy, power, and focus.
Typical dosages in strong pre workout supplements range from 300 mg to 400 mg.
DMHA – 100 mg
Also known as Octodrine, 2-Amino-6-methylheptane, 1,5-Dimethylhexylamine; 6-Methyl-2-heptylamine; 6-Methyl-2-heptanamine
DMHA is a stimulant that is known for enhancing energy, motivation, and mood.
Most range from 150 mg to upwards of 300 mg. You definitely feel it, but it might not be as strong as others like Wrecked Extreme.
DMBA – 200 mg
DMBA, also known as 1,3-DMBA, dimethylbutylamine, 4-amino-2-methylpentane, AMP, or AMP Citrate, is a very rare stimulant nowadays (this is as I know, the only product which contains it), but about a decade or so ago, it was more commonplace.
It’s in the realm of DMHA in terms of effects for motivation, energy, and mood.
Theobromine – 100 mg
Theobromine is a stimulant that is sort of a “caffeine light” ingredient and is found in chocolate, some tea plants, and the Kola Nut. It’s name means “Food of the Gods”, Greek “theo” meaning gods and “broma” meaning food. As anyone with a sugar craving, you can sorta understand why.
Most doses range from 100 mg-400 mg, so this is at the lower end.
MethylSynephrine HCL – 20 mg
A stimulant chemically related to synephrine, which is a well-researched ingredient that has been shown to aid in weight loss.
Note: MethylSynephrine is currently a World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited substance when used in competition as 5 different athletes in 5 different sports have tested positive. Including Vietnamese weightlifter Hoàng Anh Tuấn, silver medalist in 2008 Summer Olympics who was given a 4 year ban.
Alpha Yohimbine HCL – 2.5 mg
Alpha Yohimbine or simply, “Alpha Yo”, is a central nervous system stimulant. It can be quite divisive, with some individuals reporting anxiety, headaches, sweating, chills, and increased blood pressure.
If you have taken Alpha Yo before, and are extra sensitive to it, begin with just a full scoop (1.25 mg) or even a half of a scoop (0.625 mg) and gradually increase to find your limit. I rarely get any of the noted side effects that come with this polarizing ingredient.
