HyperMax Extreme V3 (3D Pump) is a pre workout supplement from Performax Labs. When it comes to reformulations, especially of a great product, you always are hesitant to try it.

Will it be better than the original?

What effects have changed?

Lucky for me (and maybe you), this actually hit even better (especially with focus and pumps). Powered by 3.2 g Beta-Alanine, 3 g pure L-Citrulline, 2 g L-Tyrosine, 400 mg Beta PEA, 250 mg Eria,  400 mg Caffeine, and 6 g of the new 3D Pump, among others, this hits just as good as the original.

Compared to the previous version, the most improved aspects are focus, pumps, and flavor.

It took me just one time to try it, knowing that it was even better than the previous and original versions. It’s recommended for those for a high-end daily driver who can handle their stims and want a fully rounded pre workout.

Read on for additional details of my experience, the best prices for the HyperMax Extreme V3 pre workout, and a breakdown of its ingredient label.

My Experience with Hypermax Extreme v3 (3D Pumps)

Like with all pre workouts I take, I did a 2.5-hour full-body fasted heavy lifting workout. Like the previous version, this hit in all aspects, pumps, energy, focus, and mood elevation, but just better.

Effects:

After 10 minutes, the beta-alanine tingles began, and even though they took a while to come on, they lasted for a good 40 minutes. They primarily focused on the top of my head and near my eyes but weren’t so intense that they distracted me from the workout. Out of 10, I’d give the tingles a 7.5 in intensity.

Driven by 400 mg caffeine and 250 mg NeuroPEA, the energy started after 10-15 minutes and was incredibly smooth, non-jittery throughout the entire workout. It gave me an intense 6 hours of energy.

Powered by a 6 g 3D Pump, 3g L-Citrulline, and 50 mg S7, the pumps are vicious, tight, and made me far more vascular than I ever had been while doing compound exercises.

The 2 g of L-Tyrosine and 250 mg of NeuroPEA gave me incredible focus that starts after 20 minutes and lasts for nearly three hours.

The mood elevation is not as substantial as the previous version even if the focus is significantly ramped up. Approximately 5-10 minutes after my workout, I felt a strong sense of mood elevation. The mood elevation felt more intense than the previous version.

I felt relatively strong thermogenic effects once I started training. I drank more water than usual, probably due to the 60 mg Theobroma, 50 mg Citrus Aurantium, and 1.8 mg Alpha Yo.

No adverse side effects were experienced, not even from the alpha yohimbine.

Flavor

The flavor I tried was “Hawaiian Papaya Pineapple”, and it was absolutely incredible. Out of 10, I’d have to give it a 9.25. It was that good. Nice and sweet, no bitter or chemical taste, which is very surprising based on my experience with the previous versions.

Performax REALLY stepped up their game in the flavor department. Other flavors include: Rocket Bomb, Raspberry Limeade, and Mango Kiwi Cooler.

Scoop Size

A full serving is 11.5 grams per scoop for 2 scoops, it’s just over a flat scoop. A dead-flat scoop is roughly 11.15 grams.

Ingredients in HyperMax Extreme v3

3DPump-Breakthrough – 6,000 mg

3D Pump is a new pump ingredient introduced in late 2020; supposedly, it is a pump enhancer that increases vasodilation (opens up your blood vessels to improve blood flow) and some performance enhancers as well. It is composed of pure L-Citrulline, Glycerol, and ALMA Extract (Phyllanthus Emblica) (fruit), but as a prop blend. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s 3 g L-Citrulline, 2 g Glycerol, and 1 g ALMA Extract.

From this review on the 3D Pump Breakthrough ingredient by itself, it is supposed to help with the pump, blood flow, workout performance, and hydration.

Being that it’s a new, non-scientifically reviewed ingredient just yet, there’s no discernable dosage for it, but it seems as if 6 g of it is the average dose.

Beta Alanine – 3,200 mg

This is the standard dosage for beta-alanine, which, taken consistently, has been shown to improve muscular endurance by acting as a lactic acid buffer in muscles; this is the ingredient that gives you the “tingles.” They started about 10 minutes after I consumed it and lasted for a good 40 minutes or so.

L-Citrulline – 3,000 mg

L-Citrulline is one of the most common pre workout ingredients. It has extensive evidence supporting its effects on increasing nitric oxide production, power output, and endurance.

Although most research uses a variation known as L-Citrulline Malate (2:1), anecdotal evidence supports that L-Citrulline delivers much of the same benefit.

When included as pure L-Citrulline, we like to see 4 grams as the dosage, but HyperMax Extreme V3 gives you 3 g, in 3D Pump, and 6 g of L-Citrulline total.

Betaine Anhydrous – 2,500 mg

Betaine is included to help increase your power output. However, research is pretty inconsistent around this claim. 2.5 grams is a perfect dose of this ingredient, typically between 1.5 g and upwards of 5 g.

S7 – 50 mg per serving

S7 is a patented blend of seven plant-based ingredients (green coffee bean extract, green tea extract, turmeric extract, tart cherry, blueberry, broccoli, and kale) that has increased nitric oxide production aiding pumps in athletes.

50 mg is the clinical dosage so that you can expect decent pumps from HyperMax Extreme V3.

The creator of the ingredient states that S7 at 50 mg per dose increases nitric oxide by 230%. That being said, though, there are no independent studies on the component.

L-Tyrosine – 2,000 mg

L-Tyrosine helps “smooth out” some of the harsher effects of stimulants and increases focus. Some limited research also shows it can act as a cognitive booster in stressful environments.

Two grams is a substantial dosage, and lands within the range recommended for use in an exercise setting.

ThinFen ™ (Beta – Phenylethylamine HCL) – 400 mg

ThinFen is the trademark version of B-Phenylethylamine, a neurotransmitter that inhibits uptake and efflux (i.e., removal) of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin levels (2008 study). It is included here to increase focus and motivation. Typical dosages range between 200 mg and upwards of 600 mg. As MAO-B primarily metabolizes it and rather quickly, it requires an MAO Inhibitor to length the feeling as stated in this study, so the 400 mg included is within the range is a great dose and in line with the original version.

Caffeine Anhydrous – 400 mg

The Big Poppa of stimulant supplements is in your coffee, tea, soda, heck; it may even be in your sweets and gum (some confectioners add caffeine to their sweets for a kick). Well known for increasing energy, power, and focus, it’s the staple ingredient in all stim-based products. 400 mg is heading towards the higher end of the range you mostly see in pre workout supplements nowadays (usually ranging between 250 and 450). Sometimes when you get higher doses of caffeine, there tends (but not always) to be a crash; luckily, with HyperMax Extreme V3, there was no crash.

NeuroPEA (Eria Jarensis Whole Plant Extract) – 250 mg

NeuroPEA is the trademark version of Eria Jarensis (N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine), a stimulant that is becoming a popular alternative to DMAA or DMHA. It increases levels of dopamine and noradrenaline in the user and can enhance mood, increase motivation, and dial in concentration. With Eria and other stimulants, it is based on the purity of the ingredient itself. Sometimes a product with 150 mg Eria can feel 20x better than one with 400 mg Eria. That being said, 250 mg is an excellent dose; as usual, amounts range from 150 mg up to 500 mg as found in Flame Pre Workout (which is fantastic).

CocoaButerol ® (Cocoa Extract) – 60 mg per serving

CocoaButerol (Cocoa Extract) is attributed to fat-burning, mood-boosting, and energy-enhancing effects. It seems to be a different source of Theobromine, which is commonly seen in many pre workouts and can work well with caffeine to deliver nice mood and energy effects.

I did some intense Googling and couldn’t identify any substantial research showing how Cocoabuterol helps with fat burning, metabolism, etc.

This ingredient seems a bit suspect to me. But for the Theobromine, it’s not bad. 60 mg is on the lower end of doses, which usually range between 50 and 100 mg per serving

Citrus Aurantium Extract (fruit) – 50 mg per serving

Citrus Aurantium Extract, aka Synephrine, is a well-researched ingredient that has been shown to aid in weight loss.

“In general, bitter orange Extract alone (p-synephrine) or in combination with other herbal ingredients did not produce significant adverse events as an increase in heart rate or blood pressure or alter electrocardiographic data, serum chemistry, blood cell counts, or urinalysis. p-Synephrine alone as well as in combination products were shown to increase resting metabolic rate and energy expenditure, and modest increases in weight loss were observed with bitter orange extract/p-synephrine-containing products when given for six to 12 weeks.”

Synephrine Meta-Analysis

50 mg of synephrine is a solid dosage for fat-burning effects.

Rauwolfia Vomitoria Extract [Std 90% Rauwolscine] – 2 mg per serving

Rauwolfia Vomitoria Extract, otherwise known as Alpha Yohimbine, or simply “alpha yo,” is a love it or hate it a stimulant. Some individuals are susceptible to alpha yohimbine and avoid any pre workout with it outright. Common adverse side effects can include anxiety, headaches, sweating, frequent urination, and increased blood pressure.

2 mg is a relatively usual dose. Those sensitive to alpha yohimbine will undoubtedly want to gauge their dosing with HyperMax Extreme by potentially taking one scoop or 1.5 scoops.

My Experience with Hypermax Extreme v2

I’ve taken Hypermax Extreme over and over again, and every time it hits.

Effects

You know when you find something and the first time you try it, and it just works and you wonder if it’ll work the next time and the next time after that? This is it. Makes you want to workout longer and once you are done, although you may be sore, you feel great for the rest of the day.

The main effects for Hypermax Extreme are focus, pumps, energy, and mood elevation.

Although without a digestion aid such as Black Pepper or the trademarked Astragin, the Beta Alanine tingles begin within 5-7 minutes. Like most Beta Alanine tingles, it gets you motivated to start moving and begin your workout and these last until about 5-10 minutes or so into your workout.

With the L-Tyrosine and Eria Jarensis (N,N-Dimethylethylamine Citrate), your mind is metaphorically in the game, making your mind-to-muscle connection top-notch.

I don’t know if it’s the pump ingredients of 6g L-Citrulline, 1g Agmatine Sulfate, and 300mg patented VASO-6 or the immense focus, or a mixture of both, but the pumps are tight.

The sense of urgency from the beta alanine and 400 mg caffeine propels you into your workout session. No heart-beating-out-of-your-chest feeling, just a smooth energy that lasts well after your workout.

The combination of B-Phenethylamine (Beta Phenethylamine or Beta PEA), Hordenine, and Eria Jarnesis, you feel a sense of sustained euphoria. The euphoria feels stronger after your workout.

Side Effects

Hypermax Extreme has no noticeable side effects. The 2 mg Alpha Yo in each serving is smooth and doesn’t come with the chills, rapid heartbeat, or dribbly mouth some get.

I have not experienced any digestive, stomach, or anxiety issues either.

Flavor

The flavors I tried were Raspberry Lemonade and Rocket Bomb.

Raspberry Lemonade isn’t great unless you like a sour lemonade flavor.

The Rocket Bomb on the other hand is very good, though I typically like Rocket Pop flavors.

It’s worth noting that some ingredients will cause a product to not taste as great. Hypermax Extreme has three of them: VASO-6, Beta PEA, and Hordenine, the latter pair having a bitter taste to them.

Scoop Size

A full serving is 17.5 grams in 2 scoops, or 8.75 grams a scoop. It’s roughly just under a full level scoop.

Ingredients of Hypermax Extreme v2

Below you can find the Hypermax Extreme Pre Workout ingredients label.

Hypermax Extreme Pre Workout Ingredients Label
Hypermax Extreme Pre Workout Ingredients Label

L-Citrulline – 6,000 mg

L-Citrulline is an amino acid that turns into L-arginine in the kidneys. Consuming L-Citrulline improves nitric oxide metabolism, increasing endurance for aerobic and anaerobic exercise, along with reducing fatigue.

It is a classic “pump” ingredient and 6 grams is a great dosage. (More info: Examine).

Agmatine Sulfate – 1,000 mg

Agmatine is included as a “pump” ingredient, but research is more limited on this ingredient vs. the classic L-Citrulline.

1,000 mg is within the range you’d typically see in a pre-workout supplement with Agmatine Sulfate which occasionally range between 500mg and 1,500mg.

VASO-6 – 300 mg

Short for vasorelaxant peak G6, VASO6 is a nitric oxide booster and vasodilation supplement. It not only increases blood flow, but also relaxes the blood vessel walls, allowing them to increase in size.

For most supplements, 300 mg is the going rate for VASO-6 dosing.

Beta Alanine – 3,200 mg

This is the standard dosage for beta alanine, which, taken consistently, has been shown to improve muscular endurance by acting as a lactic acid buffer in muscles. This is the ingredient that gives you the “tingles.”

Betaine Anhydrous – 2,500 mg

Betaine is included to help increase your power output. However, research is pretty inconsistent around this claim.

2.5 grams is a strong dose of this ingredient which typically range between 1.5g and upwards of 5 g (More info: Examine)

B-Phenethylamine – 400 mg

B-Phenylethylamine is a neurotransmitter that inhibits uptake and efflux (i.e. removal) of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin levels (2008 study). It is included here for the purpose of increasing focus and motivation.

Typical dosages range between 200 mg and upwards of 600 mg and as it is primarily metabolized by MAO-B and rather quickly, it requires an MAO Inhibitor to length the feeling as stated in this study.

Hordenine – 60 mg

Hordenine (N,N-dimethyltyramine) is a stimulant that is often included in recent “nootropic” products. It is not widely researched, so much of the information available comes from anecdotal accounts.

Typically dosed between 10mg and upwards of 150mg, 60 mg is well within “normal” standards for hordenine.

There is one study that shows that hordenine is an MAO (monoamine oxidase) inhibitor which may lengthen the feeling of energy and mood elevation.

L-Tyrosine – 1,000 mg

L-Tyrosine helps “smooth out” some of the harsher effects of stimulants and increase focus. Some limited research also shows it can act as a cognitive booster in stressful environments.

1 grams is a solid dosage and lands within the range recommended for use in an exercise setting.

Caffeine – 400 mg

The Grand-Daddy of stimulant supplements. It’s in your coffee, your tea, soda, heck, it may even be in your sweets and gum (some confectioners add caffeine to their sweets for a kick).

The 400mg is on the higher end for most, but it was smooth-sailing for me.

Synephrine – 50 mg

Synephrine is a well-researched ingredient that has been shown to aid in weight loss.

“In general, bitter orange extract alone (p-synephrine) or in combination with other herbal ingredients did not produce significant adverse events as an increase in heart rate or blood pressure, or alter electrocardiographic data, serum chemistry, blood cell counts or urinalysis. p-Synephrine alone as well as in combination products were shown to increase resting metabolic rate and energy expenditure, and modest increases in weight loss were observed with bitter orange extract/p-synephrine-containing products when given for six to 12 weeks.”

Synephrine Meta Analysis

50 mg of synephrine is a solid dosage for fat burning effects.

Rauwolfia Vomitoria Extract – 2 mg

Also known as Alpha Yohimbine or simply, “Alpha Yo”, is a central nervous system stimulant. It can be quite divisive, with some individuals reporting anxiety, headaches, sweating, chills, and increased blood pressure.

If you have taken Alpha Yo before, and are extra sensitive to it, begin with just a full scoop (1mg) or even a half of a scoop (0.5mg) and gradually increase to find your limit. Although for me, I rarely get any of the noted side effects that come with this controversial ingredient.
