ESP Extreme is a pre workout supplement made by Metabolic Nutrition. It is known for its incredibly high caffeine content, unique multi-scoop dosage system, and absence of pump ingredients.
Muscle Factory SC was kind enough to send me a tub to try out and review for you all, so let’s get to it.
Overall, ESP Extreme is a great choice for those who are simply seeking long lasting energy in the gym. It’s a pretty straightforward ingredients label and you feel what you expect: energy and focus in high doses.
Boasting up to 750 mg in a single serving (if you go with 3 scoops), ESP Extreme is for those seeking a massive jolt of energy in the gym.

My Experience
I’ve taken ESP Extreme Pre Workout several times and it’s delivered the goods each time.
I usually take two scoops, as frankly 500 mg of caffeine is more than enough for me. This is probably the dose I’d generally recommend for experienced users (otherwise start with one scoop).
Remember: you can always take more, but you can never take less.
In terms of effects, ESP Extreme primarily delivers energy, focus, and motivation. After all, it’s mainly caffeine, eria jarensis, and beta alanine. The di-caffeine malate helps extend the length of the effects, which last well past the three hour mark.
One of the most obvious things you’ll discern from the label is that ESP Extreme contains no pump ingredients. If you want pump ingredients, I’d recommend pairing a pump pre workout like Sicario or Hooligan Bare Knuckle.
All in all I’d recommend ESP Extreme for anyone who wants an aggressive, high energy pre workout. If you’re willing to forgo the pump ingredients (or add you own), this pre workout is quite a decent value if you go with two scoop servings.

ESP Extreme Ingredients
Below you’ll find the ingredients and their doses for the two scoop serving. If you decide to take three scoops, which I would only recommend you do after trying two scoops, then of course all of these doses will increase by 50%.
Caffeine Anhydrous – 400 mg
Caffeine anhydrous is the main driver of effects for ESP Extreme, delivering energy, focus, and motivation. 400 mg is a high dosage of caffeine anhydrous, but when paired with 112 mg of di-caffeine malate (84 mg yield) it starts to move into extreme territory.
Theobromine – 200 mg
Theobromine is a compound, structurally similar to caffeine, naturally found in dark chocolate, coffee beans, and guarana berries. It lowers blood pressure, acts as a milder, longer lasting stimulant than caffeine, and may positive impact mood (source, source).
200 mg is a decent theobromine dosage to achieve some stimulant effects. Researched doses usually range between 200 and 400 mg (source).
Di-Caffeine Malate – 112 mg
Di-caffeine malate is the extended release version of caffeine. It helps extend the energizing effects of ESP Extreme.
It is typically 75% caffeine anhydrous and 25% malic acid, which means 112 mg would yield 84 mg of caffeine anhydrous.
Choline Bitartrate – 1,334 mg
Choline is often included in doses ranging from 1 to 2 grams to help boost mental focus as a nootropic. However, it is often included in Alpha GPC form for this purpose and Choline bitartrate may not be as effective for nootropic purposes (source).
While 1.3 grams is a decent dosage, there really is not enough research around Choline to reliably predict effects. Going with Alpha GPC instead would be nice to see.
N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine – 400 mg
I’d consider this another misstep in ESP Extreme’s focus matrix.
While L-Tyrosine is a great ingredient for enhancing focus and reducing stress, NALT (N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine) is less bioavailable then pure L-Tyrosine. Going with L-Tyrosine in a future version, alongside Alpha GPC instead of Choline Bitartrate, would be very interesting.
Transparent Labs claims that “…the acetylation improves the absorption and effective period of L-Tyrosine…”, but Examine claims there is “limited practical evidence on NALT as an alternative to L-Tyrosine.”
Eria Jarensis – 200 mg
Eria Jarensis is a stimulant that is commonly seen alongside DMHA in high stim pre workouts. It combines nicely with caffeine, delivering a more “intense” stimulant experience than caffeine by itself.
Beta Alanine – 3,334 mg
Beta alanine has consistently shown to support muscular endurance and can act as an a lactic acid buffer. Regular intake of beta alanine is required in order to achieve these benefits, but 3.3 grams is in line with recommended dosages.
Black Pepper Extract – 10 mg
Black pepper extract aids the absorption of nutritional supplements.
Boasting up to 750 mg in a single serving (if you go with 3 scoops), ESP Extreme is for those seeking a massive jolt of energy in the gym.
