Kaged, formally Kaged Muscle, is back with its Elite Series of supplements. This is an upgraded version of its Clean Burn, which features many trademarked and patented ingredients at clinical or highly efficient dosages. The significant difference between this product and their non-elite version is the addition of innoslim.

This is a healthier version of a fat burner and more of a natural approach. I recommend this product to those looking for a smoother type of appetite suppression in addition to energy.

True to Kaged’s mission to deliver effective supplements that athletes can use, this does not contain any banned substances and is safe for athletes.

Thank you, Kaged, for sending this full product for review!

Experience

I didn’t notice much within the first 20 minutes, but afterward, I could feel the energy grow from nonexistent to a 4/10. Focus also came on, as my thoughts came and went more efficiently, and I felt productive. I did develop a slight warmth in my stomach, most likely due to the ASV or capsicum.

I didn’t feel overstimulated, jittery, or anything throughout the review of this product. I had a constantly clean, smooth energy that gave me a good focus. With the only nootropic-like compound being l-tyrosine – and not at a high dosage – I was surprised how well I had an elevated focus similar to alpha GPC dosed at 600 mg.

Forty minutes later, the warmth from my stomach dissipated and my face felt slightly numb and warm. My appetite was consistently suppressed; although I took this on a fasted stomach, it could be taken otherwise. After an hour, I felt a typical plateau, but I still felt energized. I also noticed that my breathing had improved. It was productive for me, especially on the days I worked.

The effects of this product were top-notch to the dosages associated. It became clear why they call it clean burn, in addition to their more natural approach to flavoring and pure ingredients approved by the Informed Athletes Association. Two hours later, it started to warm up my body to a level of 3/10.

Side Effects

I didn’t have any issues while running this product.

Flavor

“Lemon Drop” was the flavor I was sent for review, which tasted sweet and lemon drop-like, but I felt burning sensations quickly after each sip. This is like when you drink apple cider vinegar (ACV), but to a lesser degree. You could taste the ACV, followed by the turmeric flavor.

The suggested amount of water for one scoop is 8 to 12 ounces, and I enjoyed it most, around 8 ounces of water, as it was easier to take as a shot. The mixability was excellent, with a small amount of sediment towards the end of the cup.

Dose/Scoop Size

The serving size is 6.3 grams for a whole serving of my flavor, but Kaged does vary their serving sizes slightly on each flavor. The total serving amount comes to a heaping rounded serving. If you shake a product very well, which you should do, it will cause some aeration, so the powder might be more fluffy and measure differently. I personally like to measure out all my servings, but I am so used to reviewing products it is in my routine.

I used the whole serving with each serving, which hit well enough to review it adequately to whom it is marketed. I was able to use it twice a day many times. We are given 30 servings, with directions suggesting two daily for best results, at the recommended dosage of twice a day, which only gives us 15 servings or days, which is a little. I suggest 45 servings for future formulations.

Ingredients

This unique formulation is well-dosed for efficiency and is more of a natural approach. The formulation was good enough for a positive mood and helpful for appetite suppression and fat metabolism. The recommended twice daily and 30 total servings is a bit low, and I would like to see it at 45 to 60 servings per container.

Chromium (ChromeMate) – 400 mcg

Chromium is an essential mineral that regulates the metabolism of glucose. It also plays a role in regulating insulin sensitivity. It has been shown to reduce blood glucose in diabetics, but this effect is not observed in people without diabetes (National Institute of Health). According to PubMed, in an 8-week study, 1,000 μg/day of chromium (chromium picolinate) reduced food intake, hunger, and cravings in healthy overweight women.

In an 8-week study from The Journal of Psychiatric Practice, they assigned 113 people with depression to receive either 600 μg/day of chromium in chromium picolinate or a placebo. Compared to the placebo, the researchers found that appetite and cravings were reduced with chromium picolinate supplements. Additionally, a small study from NCBI observed possible benefits in people suffering from binge-eating disorder.

Specifically, 600 to 1,000 μg/day doses may have reduced the frequency of binge eating episodes and symptoms of depression. Remembering that 150 mcg is 150,000 nanograms (or μg), this is a solid dose for the potential effects.

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate (Carnipure) – 1.5 g

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate (LCLT) is a compound shown to reduce exercise-induced muscle tissue damage.

2,000 mg is a clinical dosage of LCLT, so 1.5 grams is a little low but not too bad.

Coconut Fruit Water Powder – 500 mg

Coconuts are a highly effective fruit and aid in hydration. Coconut water contains 94% water, various B vitamins, potassium, magnesium, and sodium. Powdered coconut has all the essential properties needed for hydration. 500 mg is a suitable dosage since the additional electrolytes are added to this formula.

Organic Apple Cider Vinegar Fruit Powder – 500 mg

There is no available research on dosing for the powdered form of ACV. With that said, the liquid form of ACV does have some promising research suggesting its utility as a weight loss aid by suppressing appetite. It may also have metabolic benefits.

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is a type of vinegar made from fermented apple juice. It has gained popularity for its potential health benefits and various household uses. Here are some potential advantages, such as aiding in weight loss, improving digestion, and helping control blood sugar levels.

L-Tyrosine – 375 mg

L-tyrosine boosts cognitive performance in stressful environments. Pre-workouts include it as a focus ingredient and help achieve anti-stress effects. The typical dosage range is 500 mg to 2,000 mg for exercise, whereas the 375 mg dosage we have is unique but an effectively efficient dose potency.

L-tyrosine is a naturally occurring amino acid and a precursor to several important neurotransmitters and hormones in the body. It plays a significant role in producing dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine, which regulate mood, stress response, physical performance, and cognitive function.

InnoSlim (Panax notoginseng, Astragalus) – 250 mg

This is an ingredient that increases the bioavailability of nutritional supplements. In other words, it helps your body absorb more of the ingredients in the product, which allows the effectiveness of the ingredients. As the serving size increases, so does the need for a digestion aid such as this.

Caffeine (PurCaf) – 166 mg

PurCaf is made from organic green coffee beans. This means the coffee beans that produce this caffeine are grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. It typically contains around 95% pure caffeine.

Caffeine anhydrous is the standard form of caffeine, known for increasing energy, alertness, motivation, and mood. The caffeine content varies for each product. The 350-450 range is the typical dosage for sports supplements, around 200 for fat burners, and some products may contain other forms or stimulants.

Less is more, as your dependency will lead to diminishing returns as you increase your intake. The overall combination of many factors, such as sleep, when you take caffeine, diet, and nutrition, affect how much you will need. PurCaf is not synthetically created but rather extracted, making it more pure. This typically results in a noticeable decrease in crashing later in the day as the energy is more regulated.

Organic Guayusa (llex guayusa leaf extract AmaTea) – 100 mg

Guayusa (pronounced gwhy-you-sa) is a type of holly tree native to the Amazon rainforest in South America, particularly in countries like Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia. The leaves of the guayusa tree are used to make a stimulating herbal tea, consumed for centuries by indigenous people in the Amazon basin.

Key points about guayusa include caffeine content that provides natural compounds like theobromine and theanine, antioxidants, and focus.

Guayusa tea is appreciated for its potential health benefits, cultural significance, and role in supporting sustainable agriculture in the Amazon rainforest. If you want to try guayusa, you can find it in tea bags or loose leaves in health food stores and online retailers.

Capsicum (Capsimax) – 50 mg

Capsicum supplements, often containing capsaicin or other compounds derived from chili peppers, are believed to offer several potential health benefits when consumed in moderation.

These benefits include Weight Management, pain relief, heart health, appetite suppression, anti-inflammatory, digestive health, and pain management.

CaloriBurn GP (Grains of Paradise) – 20 mg

Grains of Paradise has some promising research but needs additional evidence to support its fat loss effects. With that said, some exciting research shows it can activate brown adipose tissue, which can help increase a body’s metabolism, burning more calories in the process.

At 12.5% 6-Paradol, the 20 mg dosage is the same used in human clinical trials that have shown up to a 5% increase in energy expenditure (source).

Clean Burn Elite Fat-Burner Review

  • Slight thermogenic
  • Good focus
  • Increased alertness
  • Nootropic effects
  • Elevated mood

Cons
