As a result of the 2021 DMAA crackdown by the FDA, Static Labz is shutting down.

That means Shockwave is no longer being made and once this stock is gone, it’s gone for good.

Shockwave slaps, so I’d say this is a buy.

Shockwave is available from the following retailers:

  • Nutrition Faktory

If you like Shockwave, stock up now.

Check out other DMHA pre workout, DMAA pre workouts, and the strongest pre workout supplements.

Shockwave is a pre workout supplement by Static Labz known for its stimulant heavy ingredient label. It includes DMHA, eria jarensis, octopamine, higenamine, and other stimulants to deliver a strong rush of energy that lasts for a few hours, followed by mild appetite suppression.

shockwave pre workout

Overall, I enjoyed my experience with Shockwave and would recommend it to those looking for a pre workout that delivers heaps of energy and good focus. It’s not an exceptionally well rounded pre workout, omitting beta alanine and most pump ingredients, instead focusing primarily on delivering an excellent energy experience. I think it succeeds there and will make stim junkies and experienced pre workout users pretty happy.

Shockwave vs. 1’3 Volt Pre Workout

Compared to 1’3 Volt, I’d say it delivers a little less focus and mood elevation. If I had to pick between the two, I’d choose 1’3 Volt, but if you want to stay away from the massive 6 gram dosage of beta alanine in 1’3 Volt, I think Shockwave is a great runner up.

My Experience

I took a full scoop of Shockwave in the morning after breakfast before my workout. Within 30 minutes I could feel the caffeine start to kick in. By 60 minutes, the energy and mood elevation of DMHA took hold.

I loved the feel of this pre workout. I don’t think it has quite the mood elevation of 1’3 Volt pre workout, but it’s pretty close. Shockwave absolutely delivers on energy and motivation. I did some extra sets of a few exercises because I was feeling so good and wanted to keep going.

It’s also really long lasting. The DMHA lasts longer than the caffeine (I think it would have been nice to see some di caffeine malate added to the ingredient profile) – lasting well past the three hour mark.

There’s a little bit of a crash from the DMHA, which is to be expected with most pre workouts that really are including that kind of ingredient. It’s not bad, like a 2 out of 10, and is mostly just a bit of moodiness. No terrible fatigue or “I will never feel happy again” crap like with Excelsior. No nausea – so I’m still not sure what’s in Defiant Unleashed that keeps making me feel queasy…

I think some L-Tyrosine or Theanine could help smooth out some of the edges, but overall it’s a nice experience and a pre workout that I’d happily take again on days when I need to get a lot of work done in the gym.

It is worth noting that I felt mild appetite suppression up to 5 hours after taking Shockwave. It basically made me eat lunch about one hour later than usual – nothing crazy, but I wanted to call that out.

Overall, great stuff. If you’re looking for a solid, energizing DMHA pre workout, Shockwave delivers.

Where to Buy Shockwave Pre Workout

Shockwave is available from the following retailers:

  • Nutrition Cartel – 15% off with LIFTVAULT
  • Nutrition Faktory – free shipping

Shockwave Ingredient Label

Shockwave Pre Workout Ingredient Label

Citrulline Malate 2:1 – 6,500 mg

Citrulline malate is included as a pump and power ingredient, helping improve endurance, reduce fatigue, and increase production of nitric oxide.

6.5 grams is well within the recommended dose, which is in the 6 gram to 8 gram range.

Agmatine Sulfate – 1,000 mg

One gram of agmatine sulfate is an good dosage for helping boost nitric oxide in the bloodstream, helping with pumps. With that said, this is not a pump heavy pre workout and definitely skews more toward energy and stimulation instead of pumps.

Caffeine – 350 mg

Caffeine: the mood boosting, energy providing, entire reason to live we all know and love.

350 mg is a solid dosage. No complaints here.

DMHA – 200 mg

DMHA is a stimulant that is known for enhancing energy, motivation, and mood.

200 mg is a right on the money compared to most pre workouts (200 mg to 250 mg). Do I think it’s real DMHA? I do.

Eria Jarensis – 200 mg

Eria Jarensis is a stimulant. 200 mg is exactly what I expect to see in “high stim” pre workouts (typically 200 mg to 300 mg).

Octopamine – 200 mg

This is a stimulant that may also have minor fat burning properties (Examine). It is a metabolite of synephrine.

200 mg is a pretty big dosage compared to the 100 mg you typically see in pre workouts.

Hordenine – 200 mg

Hordenine (N,N-dimethyltyramine) is a stimulant that is often included in recent “nootropic” products. It is not widely researched, so much of the information available comes from anecdotal accounts.

According to those account, “effective” doses start around 20 mg, so the 200 mg included in Shockwave is more than enough to feel the focus effects touted by proponents of Hordenine.

Higenamine – 75 mg

Higenamine is thought to have similar mechanisms to ephedrine, which has led to usage as a fat burner, though this is not well researched.

Examine says it is typically taken in doses of 20 mg to 30 mg two to three times daily, so 75 mg is effectively a full daily dose delivered all at once.

Huperzine A – 300 mg

Like Alpha GPC, Huperzine A is a cholinergic that acts as a cognitive enhancer. It tends to be taken in doses of 50 mcg to 200 mcg, so the dose found in Shockwave pre workout is quite strong (Examine).

Shockwave Pre Workout Review (Static Labz)
4.2

Summary

Overall, I enjoyed my experience with Shockwave and would recommend it to those looking for a pre workout that delivers heaps of energy and good focus. It’s not an exceptionally well rounded pre workout, omitting beta alanine and most pump ingredients, instead focusing primarily on delivering an excellent energy experience. I think it succeeds there and will make stim junkies and experienced pre workout users pretty happy.

Pros

  • Excellent energy
  • Good focus + mood elevation

Cons

  • Small crash (not terrible, but worth noting)
  • Not a ton of pump ingredients
  • Could have smoothed out the stimulant edges a bit with some additional ingredients
