Jupiter is a fat burner supplement from Chaos and Pain. Chaos and Pain have quite a bit of fat burners and pre-workout supplements, which are lower stim ones.

Over a week, I tried it three times on my non-gym cardio days. Recommended for beginners on two capsules, intermediates on 2 or 3, but the “stim-junkies” will definitely feel the thermogenic effects, but the energy may not be enough.

Read for additional details of my experience, best prices for the Jupiter by Chaos and Pain, and a breakdown of its ingredient label.

Jupiter by Chaos and Pain is a sweat-creating, surprisingly mood-elevating, and energy-creating supplement that delivers very well. The energy, although only 255 mg of caffeine, is lovely and very smooth. The mood elevation was astonishing on this. Suitable for beginners!

My Experience

I took Jupiter 3 times, all with three capsules, fasted, for a 2-hour cardio session.

Effects

The main effects of a fat burner should always be energy, thermogenic properties, and hopeful mood. Most of the time, when you take a fat burner, you are in a calorie deficit and probably not in an uplifting mood.

The energy started within 20 minutes of taking three capsules, and thermogenic effects began within 30 minutes.

The sweating on this was far more than usual or on many other fat burners.

Even though there isn’t much for mood elevation, for whatever reason, every time that I took this, I felt great.

No side effects, no sick feeling.

Flavor

Even at three capsules, it was easy to swallow.

Scoop Size

The whole serving is three capsules, and they aren’t that big. One nice thing from Chaos and Pain is that it states the total size of the capsules with Jupiter at 2.11 grams for the entire three capsule serving size on the ingredient label.

Jupiter Ingredients

Chaos and Pain Jupiter Ingredient Label

Acetyl-L-Carnitine – 1,000 mg per serving

L-Carnitine is a compound made in the body, composed of lysine and methionine. Once acetylated, it becomes Acetyl-L-Carnitine and can cross the blood-brain barrier much more quickly.

While it is often included in fat burner products, like Herolean or Superhuman Burn, the research around its fat-burning efficacy is mixed, with some positive effects shown for weight loss in obese subjects.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine also has potential in other areas, such as reducing depression, reducing fatigue in older adults, and helping with recovery from exercise.

Most doses range from 500 mg to 2,000 mg; this is right in the middle

N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine – 250 mg per serving

While L-Tyrosine is an excellent ingredient for enhancing focus and reducing stress, NALT (N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine) is less bioavailable than pure L-Tyrosine.

Transparent Labs claims that “…the acetylation improves the absorption and effective period of L-Tyrosine…”, but Examine claims there is “limited practical evidence on NALT as an alternative to L-Tyrosine.”

250 mg is not close to a clinical dosage for this ingredient. I’d love to see this replaced with 1 to 1.5 grams of pure L-Tyrosine.

Caffeine Anhydrous – 225 mg per serving

Caffeine anhydrous is the standard form of caffeine found in coffee, tea, and energy drinks. It’s one of the most popular drugs in the world, if not the most popular.

Acute effects include energy, focus, enhanced sports performance, and possibly even a will to live. Okay, I added that last one.

225 mg per serving is a perfect dose for a fat burner; it is about 255 mg with the Yerba Mate 30% Extract (adding 30 mg).

Yerba Mate 30% – 150 mg per serving

Yerba Mate is a reasonably rare ingredient used in supplements and can help with energy and mood.

In one study, those given one 1-gram capsule of ground yerba mate leaves right before exercise burned 24% more fat during moderate-intensity exercise [Study].

An animal study showed that yerba mate might reduce appetite and boost metabolism, which can help with weight loss.

When it comes to Yerba Mate, there isn’t much research in terms of dosages.

Yerba Mate 30% is standardized to 30 mg of caffeine.

Green Tea Extract – 100 mg per serving

GCG (epigallocatechin gallate) is a plant-based compound called catechin. Catechins are natural phenols and antioxidants with a wide array of effects. Familiar sources include white tea extract and green tea extract. It’s often simply referred to as green tea extract.

So how does green tea extract work?

EGCG acts as a fat burner by inhibiting catechol-0-methyltransferase (COMT), an enzyme that degrades catecholamines. By inhibiting COMT, catecholamine levels elevate.

Why do you care?

Because catecholamines help break down fat stores. By inhibiting COMT, EGCG allows catecholamines to do their thing for more extended periods, leading to increased levels of fat removal.

In terms of dosage, most people should try to aim for 400 to 500 mg of green tea extract per day. Jupiter, with only 100 mg, is quite underdosed.

Cirsium Oligophyllum – 100 mg per serving

Coming from the thistle plants, this is another unusual ingredient in supplements, with limited (but promising) research for fat reduction.

This study on animals enhanced the slimming effect of caffeine. It didn’t reduce food intake but reduced subcutaneous fat by 26.2 percent over 32 days.

Alpha GPC 50% – 100 mg per serving

Alpha GPC is used for enhancing cognition and increasing power output. It’s usually a 50% yield of actual GPC.

For athletic purposes, doses tend to range from 300 mg to 600 mg. Doses for reducing the effects of cognitive decline are much higher, around 1,200 mg per day.

But at 50 mg yield, this may not do much in terms of focus.

Theobromine – 50 mg per serving

Theobromine is a stimulant that is a “caffeine light” ingredient and is found in chocolate, some tea plants, and the Kola Nut. Its name means “Food of the Gods,” Greek “the” meaning gods, and “broma” representing food. As anyone with a sugar craving, you can sort of understand why.

Most doses range from 100 mg-400 mg, so this doesn’t meet the lower end of the spectrum.
