The company name is unknown; the product is similar to the recently reviewed Ephedra Shred, but this one was less effective. This product intends to feature a more natural approach to fat metabolism with the addition of DMAA. Since DMAA is the first ingredient on the label it should be more noticeable, but it wasn’t quite there.

I don’t recommend this product as it provided only energy and focus with little other effects. Read more below to discover how it is stacked up.

Thank you, Muscle Factory SC, for sending this full product for review!

Experience

Starting at 15 minutes, I began to get a head buzz-like feeling, with a narrowing focus and a slight amount of energy developing around my thyroid. I assume this meant adrenaline was increasing, as this doesn’t contain alpha yo or yohimbine. As the next 15 minutes came and went, I felt a nootropic effect likely from the alpha gpc as it was dry around a 5.5/10. This was just the beginning, or so I thought, as capsules take time to digest and break apart, so 40 minutes is sometimes the calm before the storm.

An hour and 15 minutes in, I felt slightly improved breathing, which is always appreciated. It allowed me some good off-day training with steady cardio or static exercises. I consistently felt these same leveled effects at the one capsule dosage throughout the usage, with smooth energy and good focus. I didn’t see the effectiveness of appetite suppression or weight loss. I didn’t feel this would be a good option as a fat-burner at the one-serving dosage, and with the unknown dosages and capsule weight, I don’t feel it would be very safe for double dosing.

Side Effects

This is a hardcore fat-burner energy pill; if you try to abuse or overuse it, you will experience issues.

Dose/Serving Size

The serving size is one capsule, with up to two times daily. The total serving amount of active ingredients is unknown. I have measured more than half of the capsules in the bottle, and the weights vary from 550 to 630 mg. I assume there is a standard margin percentage for packing capsules. The mean was close to 630 mg, but based on the other products made by this same company, I don’t think the formulation is this amount.

I always took one capsule each time, as I felt this was a fat-burner and not a direct energy pill; it would perform best in this manner. And I could evaluate it effectively. It could be added into a stack with a non-stimulant or low-dosed pre-workout or to help increase effectiveness of a lagging product.

Ingredients

It is 2023, and we still have companies putting proprietary blends on products, which doesn’t protect anyone except them. Most of these ingredients require a high dosage for the fat metabolism effects. Otherwise, they are there for appetite suppression or energy to maintain a calorie deficit. Does it have DMAA? That I didn’t experience, nor did the product deliver very well.

1, 3 DMAA

Dimethylamylamine, DMAA can be extracted from geranium, which is why this ingredient is on the label. 1,3-dimethylamylamine, aka DMAA, is a stimulant that induces energy, euphoria, and motivation. After coming under scrutiny from the FDA in 2015, there were a few years when DMAA disappeared entirely from pre-workouts.

While DMAA has been listed in some products recently, it may also appear as an extract or stems and leaves; however, this product lists it as the actual name. Before being banned, the dosages used were around 60 to 100 mg. Since it is more potent than caffeine and DMHA, less is plenty. Check out Kyle’s in-depth comparison of DMAA vs. DMHA, plus much more information.

1,3,7 Trimethylxanthine

Caffeine anhydrous is the standard form for increasing energy, alertness, motivation, and mood. The caffeine content varies for each product. The 350-450 range is the typical dosage for sports supplements and around 200 mg for fat burners. Some products may contain other caffeine or stimulants, which give you less need for more, such as below.

Less is more, as your dependency will lead to diminishing returns as you increase your intake. The overall combination of many factors, such as sleep, caffeine timing, diet, and nutrition, affects how much you will need. The dosage doesn’t always indicate how strong a product is, so look for other stimulants on the label.

Bauhinia Purpurea Extract

Bauhinia purpurea extract is included here as a metabolic booster.  This is an anti-ulcer ingredient traditionally used as an anti-ulcer treatment. However, it has been shown in at least one study to increase concentrations of T3 and T4 hormones produced by the thyroid. Among other things, these hormones help control metabolism. This is the same compound found in the notorious Excelsior and Thermal Spark products.

Bacopa Extract

Bacopa Monniere is an herb that may reduce stress & anxiety and improve brain function. At the same time, there is some exciting research surrounding its usage as a supplement. Further research is needed to understand its effects better.

Bacopa extract is a supplement derived from the leaves of Bacopa monnieri, a plant commonly known as Brahmi or water hyssop. Bacopa monnieri is native to India and has been used for centuries in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for its potential cognitive and adaptogenic properties.

Here are some benefits of bacopa extract: cognitive benefits, adaptogenic properties for anti-stress, antioxidant effects, and neuroprotection. The recommended dosage can vary depending on the product and intended use. Dosages commonly range from 300 to 600 mg daily, although higher doses are sometimes used in clinical studies.

Dandelion Root Extract 4:1

Recent research from Healthline indicates that dandelions and their compounds may support weight control, though the data isn’t conclusive.

One study involving mice suggests that dandelion extract may aid weight management by reducing fat absorption (PubMed).

Another study in mice found that chlorogenic acid, a compound found in dandelions, reduced body weight, decreased fat accumulation, and altered levels of specific proteins involved in weight control.

White Willow Bark

MedIndia reports that white willow bark enhances the activity of other supplemental ingredients and increases body metabolism, which promotes weight loss. Many weight loss supplements are mixed with white willow extracts to improve results, but they can also be utilized in place of aspirin, such as an ECA stack.

White willow bark contains salicin, which has been suggested to deliver the same results as ephedra. It should be noted that ephedra contains ephedrine, a compound banned in the United States for having a direct link to cardiac deaths. Although many studies have not concluded that it aids in weight loss, white willow bark is relatively safe and often used in fat burners.

Yerba Mate

Yerba Mate is a reasonably rare supplement that can help with energy and mood. In one study, those given one 1-gram capsule of ground yerba mate leaves right before exercise burned 24% more fat during moderate-intensity exercise. An animal study showed that yerba mate might reduce appetite and boost metabolism, which can help with weight loss.

Yerba mate, often simply referred to as mate, is a traditional South American beverage made from the leaves and stems of the yerba mate plant (Ilex paraguariensis). It is a popular drink in countries like Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and parts of Brazil, and it has gained recognition in other parts of the world for its potential health benefits.

The benefits include stimulant properties, antioxidants, nutritional content, improved mental alertness, weight management, and digestive and cardiovascular health. Yerba mate contains caffeine, but its caffeine content is generally lower than coffee and more similar to tea. The caffeine in mate is often called “mateine,” although it is essentially the same as in other beverages.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA)

Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) is a type of fatty acid naturally found in certain animal and dairy products, particularly beef and dairy fats. It has gained attention as a dietary supplement due to its potential health benefits. Here are some critical points about Conjugated Linoleic Acid:

CLA is a linoleic acid group of isomers, an essential omega-6 fatty acid. It is found in the meat and dairy products of ruminant animals like cows, sheep, and goats. The concentration of CLA varies depending on the diet and breed of the animal. The benefits include weight management, antioxidants, and inflammation reduction.

The effectiveness of CLA supplements for weight management and other health benefits varies among individuals, and research results have been mixed. It may work better for some people than others.

Green Tea Extract (50% Catechins)

GCG (epigallocatechin gallate) is a plant-based compound called catechin. Catechins are natural phenols and antioxidants with a wide array of effects. Familiar sources include white tea extract and green tea extract. It’s often simply referred to as green tea extract.

EGCG acts as a fat burner by inhibiting catechol-0-methyltransferase (COMT), an enzyme that degrades catecholamines. By inhibiting COMT, catecholamine levels elevate. Catecholamines help break down fat stores. By inhibiting COMT, EGCG allows catecholamines to do their thing for extended periods, leading to increased levels of fat removal. In terms of dosage, most people should aim for 400 to 500 mg of green tea extract per day. It is also included for energy.

Ginger Root Extract

Ginger is a flowering plant that originated in Southeast Asia. It’s among the healthiest (and most delicious) spices on the planet. It belongs to the Zingiberaceae family and is closely related to turmeric, cardamom, and galangal. The rhizome (underground part of the stem) is commonly used as a spice. It’s often called ginger root or, simply, ginger. The benefits include anti-inflammatory, digestive, nausea relief, pain rein relief, and immune support.

This study concluded that ginger supplementation significantly reduced body weight, the waist-to-hip ratio, and the hip ratio in people with overweight or obesity. It may also help with inflammation, as this study concludes. However, dosages of excess of 2 grams may be required, as a third study concluded significant reductions in BMI were observed.

L-Alpha Glycerylphosphorylcholine

Alpha GPC is a cholinergic compound that is produced within the body. It is used for enhancing cognition and increasing power output. Based on several studies, Alpha GPC dosages should be between 300 and 600 mg.

Some key benefits include choline source, cognitive enhancement, acetylcholine precursor, neuroprotective properties, and athletic performance.  When alpha-gpc is combined with other nootropic compounds, it can enhance the cognitive effects. Common combinations include racetams (like piracetam) and other brain-boosting supplements.

Huperzine A

Huperzine A is cholinergic and acts as a cognitive enhancer. As an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, it helps lengthen the half-life of cholinergic sources. Depending on the extract percentage, it is taken in 50 to 200 mcg dosages. This is a higher dosage, making it highly effective in this pre-workout.

Huperzine A is a naturally occurring alkaloid compound derived from a Chinese club moss plant (Huperzia serrata). It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries and is known for its potential cognitive-enhancing properties. Some additional benefits include cognitive enhancers, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, nootropic, and smart drugs.

Summary

This is the lowest score I have given out so far while reviewing products on Liftvault.com. I don’t recommend this product, as it was inadequate for the effects needed and the questionable ingredient blends on the label. I would suggest looking at a recent review of mine for a product called Ephedra Shred. There are more effective fat-burners on the market, and I recommend checking Liftvault.com for the most effective products.

Pros

  • Slightly improved breathing
  • Increased energy
