Defiant Unleashed YAYO edition by Muscleforce is a special collaboration with Nutricartel. The product is based upon the highly potent Defiant unleashed but with no L-Theanine and increased Beta Alanine, DMHA, and PEA! I recommend this product to any high-stimulant junkies looking for a fantastic and euphoric pre-workout. I found it to be even better than Dark Energy, which is no longer available. This product would also be great for anyone seeking something new, exciting, and effective.

Thank you, Jake, with Nutri Cartel, for providing this product for my review!

Experience

The overall experience with YAYO was unique and nearly too fantastic to believe, especially after having used Defiant Unleashed with L-Theanine and considering this product does not feature DMAA. The intense and incredible euphoria felt as strong as Crack OG, except without an uncomfortable heart rate, making it even better than what I look for in a high-stimulant product.

I felt the Beta-Alanine within the first 10 minutes. It started around my head, face down onto my shoulders, and eventually down my spine. Soon after, a narrowing of focus started to develop. Within 20 minutes, my head was buzzing, like a headache forming. Shortly after the headache, the feeling dissipated, and a strong focus lingered. Around 35 minutes in, I felt uplifted.  By 45 minutes, I experienced total Euphoria. Funny enough, I have a few Marco Polos I sent to my gym partner, where I appeared high as hell!

This floating euphoric feeling and mood elevation persisted for 2 hours. This is a flow state you get into, similar to a runner’s high, in which the endorphins flow so well that you can continue doing the task without much effort. Regarding my training, it allowed me to push harder and longer than without a pre-workout or a non-DMHA/DMAA featured product. Focus lasted 4-5 hours without brain fog or a noticeable crash, with no mental exhaustion being noticed. Throughout the first 2 hours, I did experience nasal decongestion, which is typical of DMHA as that was one of the first marketed usages of that compound. It was not an issue but rather a reassurance with improved breathing.

This product isn’t formulated to be pump-heavy, mainly because it contains strong vasoconstrictors. That being said, the pump was so good that it hurt! Even though I had hit the mind-muscle connection so strongly in the past while using DMAA, I had not felt intense pumps like that in a high-stimulant product before. I will be finishing the remainder of this product in the future and adding other pump ingredients to see how much it could impact the results.

The euphoric effects could be reduced with additional ingredients; however, that’s not something I would be interested in losing. While I never have any issues with skipping a meal with intermittent fasting, this strongly suppressed my appetite to the point that food wasn’t even a thought. In addition to the focus being so amazing, it is possible I didn’t give food much attention.

Side Effects

I didn’t experience any adverse or unexpected side effects. With many high stimulant products containing DMHA, many users do report some mild erectile dysfunction. I had some vasoconstriction, which limited the duration to perform well in the bedroom. Still, it wasn’t as dramatic as I have experienced with comparable products from Dark Labs.

Flavor

YAYO is a special release, which means only one flavor, and that flavor continues on the running theme of Scarface being Bloody Bears. This is an excellent example of a strong stimulant pre-workout that still tastes good. It wasn’t bitter like any of my Ex’s. I enjoyed the flavor’s smooth fruitiness. The directions give a specific 9-10 ounce suggestion, which is where I stayed. Mixability wasn’t any different from the other Defiant Unleashed releases. It caused quite a bit of sediment and required a swirl, shake, and swallow.

Dose/Scoop Size

This is a high-stimulant “junky formulated” product, meaning the targeted audience will want to run this at the full serving amount. A 16-gram serving equates to a slightly rounded scoop. I would recommend users experience this product at varied dosages, such as ¾ of a serving, as it is plenty effective; however, I ran 1 serving each time.

Ingredients

Comparing supplement labels makes it easy to want additional ingredients based on their effectiveness. YAYO isn’t a product that needs any additional ingredients or changes, as the collaboration with Nutricartel and Muscleforce was even better than their regular formula. As stated above, the pump on this product was very impressive, especially when compared to heavy hitter products on the market. YAYO also has 25 servings, which makes it an incredible value especially compared to others of similar effectiveness. YAYO is formulated differently from the regular Defiant by removing L-Theanine and adding Beta Alanine, DMHA, and PEA.

Defiant Unleashed Ingredients
Defiant Unleashed Ingredients Label

L-Citrulline Malate 2:1 – 8 g

L-Citrulline Malate is one of the most common pre-workout ingredients. Extensive evidence supports its ability to increase nitric oxide production, power output, pumps, blood flow, and endurance.

The standard ratio is 2:1 malate acid. The clinically studied dosage would be 6-8 grams of L-Citrulline Malate in a 2:1 ratio, providing nearly 4-6 grams of L-Citrulline, which meets the high-end range of this product.

Beta-Alanine – 3.5 g

Beta-Alanine supports muscular endurance and acts as a lactic acid buffer.

However, beta-alanine requires regular intake to be effective, akin to creatine. Daily supplementation of beta-alanine is recommended, with a loading period of three to five weeks, to become effective.

3 to 4 grams is the recommended daily dosage for beta-alanine, putting YAYO in the standard clinically dosed range.

Choline L-Bitartrate – 1 g

Choline is a focus ingredient and chlorogenic source. Compared with Alpha GPC, choline bitartrate may not be as effective as a nootropic.

Doses usually range between 500 mg and  2,000 mg, so the 1,000 mg included is midrange but will be enough to experience the benefits of choline. However, this is a great dosage since the bioavailability is less than that of Alpha GPC or CDP.

L-Tyrosine – 1 g

L-Tyrosine boosts cognitive performance in stressful environments. It is included in pre-workouts as a focus ingredient.

1,000 mg is a suitable dosage of L-Tyrosine that should also help achieve its anti-stress effects. It is in the middle of the typical dosage range (500 mg to 2,000 mg) for exercise.

Lion’s Mane – 500 mg

Lion’s Mane (yamabushitake) is a relatively new nootropic, with some research supporting anti-anxiety, cognition boosting, and general well-being effects.

According to Examine, there has only been a single human study involving Lion’s Mane. The individuals orally consumed 1 gram three times a day. While that dosage appeared effective, it is unknown if this is optimal.

YAYO contains 500 mg of lion’s mane, and there isn’t enough research to determine if this is an effective dose. Additional research is needed to confirm Lion’s Mane’s benefits and optimal dosage.

Noopept – 30 mg

Noopept, known as N-Phenylacetyl-L-prolyglycine ethyl ester, is a synthetic nootropic ingredient with cognitive boosting and psychostimulatory effects. 30 mg is a substantial dose of noopept and is at the top of the effective range.

Huperzia Serrata Extract (1% Huperzine-A) – 30 mg

Huperzine A is cholinergic and acts as a cognitive enhancer. As an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, it helps lengthen the half-life of cholinergic sources (Examine).

It tends to be taken in doses of 50 mcg to 200 mcg, depending on the extract percentage. YAYO contains 30 mg of huperzia serrata, standardized to 1% huperzine A, which yields 300 mcg making it a highly effective dose.

Caffeine Anhydrous – 450 mg

Caffeine anhydrous is the standard form of caffeine, known for increasing energy, alertness, motivation, and mood. The caffeine content varies for each product. The 350-450 range is the typical dosage for sports supplements on the market today.

2-Amino-5-Methylhexane (Juglans Regia Extract) – 250 mg

DMHA is a stimulant similar to DMAA, which boosts energy, focus, and mood. It comes in many different forms, which include: Juglans Regia Extract, English Walnut Extract, 2-aminoisoheptane, kigelia africana, Octodrine, 2-Amino-5-Methylhexane, 2-amino-6-methylheptane, 6-Amino-2-methylheptane, 2-Isooctyl amine, 2-Heptylamine, 6-methyl-, 2-Metil-6-amino-eptano, Amidrine, Vaporpac, 1,5-DMHA, and 1,5-Dimethylhexylamine. Read about the comparison of DMAA vs DMHA here.

250 mg is above the standard dose as it does vary based on sourcing, but 200 or more is a potent dosage of this ingredient. However, just because it says something on the label doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll “feel” it.

DMHA is quite similar to DMAA in terms of effects, it requires a larger dosage. This made it a popular pre-workout ingredient for replacing DMAA, giving rise to the popularity of DMHA pre-workout supplements.

Phenylethylamine HCl – 200 mg

B-Phenylethylamine (Beta PEA) is a neurotransmitter that inhibits uptake and efflux (i.e., removal) of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin levels (2008 study). It is included in YAYO to increase focus and motivation.

This ingredient needs additional research to be better understood. 200 mg is a low dose. It is important to note that WADA bans it.

Eria Jarensis (N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine) – 200 mg

Eria Jarensis is a stimulant frequently seen alongside DMHA in high-stim pre-workouts.

200 mg is a suitable dosage for this ingredient but isn’t the highest on the market currently. The most eria jarensis I’ve ever seen in a pre-workout is 500 mg in Flame Pre Workout (which is fantastic).

Theobromine – 100 mg

Theobromine is a “caffeine light” stimulant ingredient found in chocolate, some tea plants, and the Kola Nut. Its name means “Food of the Gods.” Greek “theo” means gods, and “broma” means food.

Some anecdotal evidence suggests that Theobromine can contribute to mood elevation, focus, and stimulation.

Most doses range from 100 to 400 mg, leaving YAYO on the low end.

AstraGin – 50 mg

Like Bioperine (a black pepper extract), AstraGin helps absorb nutrients. 50 mg is the standard dosage for this ingredient.

Defiant Unleashed YAYO edition by Muscleforce Review

I recommend this product to those high-stimulant junkies that are looking for a fantastic euphoric pre-workout, even better than Dark Energy, which is no longer available. Or perhaps you’re simply wanting to shake things up with an exciting new product. Since it was so effective, I confidently suggest ½ to a full serving to anyone trying this product on a more usual basis. However, I recommend it be taken sparingly for maximum effectiveness. YAYO is a great pre-workout that is only available for a limited time. Still, Muscleforce releases many seasonal flavors and formulations, so I hope it will be around again.

Pros

  • Euphoria 10/10
  • Tunnel vision focus
  • DMAA like energy
