Sueno is a sleep aid manufactured by ASC Supplements. This is the first sleep aid product from ASC Supplements, a company that has made a name for itself through high stim products like El Jefe and Demonio.
I’m always on the lookout for ways to get a better night’s sleep, so I was excited when Nutri Cartel sent me a tub to try out and review.
Wow, I’m glad they did. Sueno is the best sleep aid I’ve ever tried. My girlfriend loves it too, saying it makes her “sleep like a baby.” She really said that. Sueno nails that sweet spot of helping me fall asleep quickly, stay asleep longer, and not feel groggy in the morning.
Read on for more details on my experience, a full ingredient breakdown, and where you can buy Sueno.

My Experience
I’ve been taking Sueno over the last couple of months, using it over a dozen times. For me, I find one scoop to be enough to get the desired effects. This increases the number of servings to somewhere between 30 and 40 servings.
Effects
Sueno works pretty quickly, usually kicking in within about 30 minutes. I’d recommend taking it about 45 minutes before you intend to go to bed.
The most prominent effect is, well, feeling sleepy and relaxed. I do feel “chilled out” a bit as it ramps up, which is a nice side benefit.
From there, Sueno helps me stay asleep and, when I do wake up during the night, fall back asleep more quickly.
When I wake up after taking Sueno, I feel minimally groggy. This is important to me, as I hate it when a sleep aid makes me feel sluggish. That was my chief complaint with Hypnos: it was kind of too strong and led to me having trouble waking up in the morning.
That’s all I can say about Sueno. It helps me fall asleep quickly, stay asleep, and wake up refreshed.
Flavor
Sueno is available in the “dreamin’ lemons” flavor. It’s quite pleasant. I don’t think anyone will have serious objections to this flavor.
Ingredients
Below you can find the ingredients in Sueno, along with a breakdown of each one.
Like I mentioned above, I personally recommend starting out with one scoop. You may find that’s all you need.
L-Glycine – 4,000 mg
Glycine is one of three amino acids that your body uses to make glutathione, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect your cells against oxidative damage caused by free radicals, which are thought to underlie many diseases.
As per this study it has been linked to help improve the quality of sleep. Another study shows that you need about 3,000 mg per serving, so Sueno’s dosage is plenty.
GABA – 3,000 mg
ABA is a neurotransmitter that is critical for the regulation of depressive and sedative actions in the brain as well as general relaxation. It also can enhance the metabolism of growth hormone.
GABA is also included in some pre workouts like Dark Energy to help take the “edge” off of higher stimulant doses. It also is used in other sleep aids like Hibernate Sleep Aid and Somatomax.
3 grams is in line with anecdotal dosage accounts.
Inositol – 2,000 mg
Inositol is a carbohydrate found naturally in citrus fruit and foods rich in fiber. Among other effects, it can help regulate mood and metabolism.
I assume it is included here for its ability to help reduce anxiety, though the study that showed that outcome gave its participants 18 grams of inositol per day.
So is Inositol under-dosed in Sueno? Not necessarily.
Another study that observed 60 pregnant women over a 10 week period noted that a daily intake of 2 grams of inositol significantly improved sleep quality. This makes inositol a very promising ingredient worthy of additional research.
L-Tryptophan – 1,000 mg
Tryptophan is an amino acid that is converted into 5-HTP, which in turn is converted to serotonin. Supplementing with tryptophan can increase levels of 5-HTP and serotonin, which can improve mood.
Furthermore, serotonin can be converted into melatonin, which helps influence the body’s sleep-wake cycle.
L-Theanine – 400 mg
L-Theanine is a somewhat sedative amino acid, noted for promoting relaxation and pairing well with caffeine for enhanced focus.
400 mg is within the recommended range for sleep aids.
L-Dopa – 300 mg
Also known as Velvet Bean, mucuna pruriens extract is a traditional herbal supplement with minor dopamine increasing and cortisol reducing effects, among other things.
One of the more reliable effects it has is a noticeable reduction in Parkinson’s Disease symptoms, though that is not relevant here.
5-HTP – 300 mg
5-HTP is a precursor to serotonin and can increase serotonin levels in the brain. As serotonin is the neurotransmitter often linked with happiness, this has earned 5-HTP quite a bit of attention.
It is important to not take 5-HTP is you are taking an SSRI, as this can induce a deadly surge of serotonin known as serotonin syndrome.
300 mg is in line with standard dosages.
Rutaecarpine – 200 mg
Rutaecarpine is an ingredient I have not come across before, which is always fun.
According to The Optimize Blog, rutaecarpine can help negate the effects of caffeine, improving sleep quality in the process. This makes Sueno especially helpful for people that consume caffeine in the afternoon.
A typical dosage is 100 mg, so you’re getting plenty of rutaecarpine in Sueno.
Melatonin – 5 mg
Melatonin is a hormone that is naturally produced in the body in order to help induce sleep.
Melatonin is released in response to darkness and is suppressed by light. As the sun goes down and darkness increases, the pineal gland begins to secrete melatonin, which usually happens after 9 p.m. The increased levels of melatonin in the blood send signals to the brain to become less alert and you feel sleepy.
Melatonin secretion peaks in the middle of the night (between 2 and 4 in the morning) and decreases gradually during the second half of the night. Nearly 80 percent of melatonin is synthesized at night (Medicine Net)
5 mg is a rather large dosage of melatonin, which usually ranges between 1-3 mg.
Astragin – 50 mg
Astragin is an absorption aid, which assists your body in digesting all of the ingredients in Sueno. 50 mg is a solid dosage.
