Mamba by Klout PWR is a high-stimulant, thermogenic, crash-free, nootropic pre-workout. Unlike other products formulated without DMHA/DMAA, it is uniquely formulated, clinically dosed, and backed by several trademarked and patented ingredients to give you that head high. Thank you, Suppscentral, for providing this product for my review! I would recommend this pre-workout to individuals wanting a crash-free, nootropic-filled, vascular, and highly effective workout!

I recommend this pre-workout to anyone looking to have an everyday “daily driver” pre-workout that is not over-stimulating or for anyone seeking something new and exciting. It provided me with some great workouts that gave me strong muscle soreness, which showed the effectiveness of my gym routine.

Experience

After ingestion, I felt my energy pick up within 15 minutes, and the paresthesias tingles began in my head and proceeded to my shoulders and down my back. Not all products include Niacin, which can help the experience and function of these ingredients. The increase in energy began at about 35 minutes, and soon after, at 45 minutes, the focus snapped in. The focus was tunnel visioned and very nootropic, like Noopept, which is not on this label. About the same time as the focus hit, I felt the warm thermogenic effects begin. I felt warm throughout my body, with it hitting all the way down to my toes.

During this experience, I had great vascularity and fullness of the muscles. It was such a strong pump and a high level of fullness that it felt almost painful. I felt soreness develop within 24 hours. It didn’t feel like a wet fullness but rather a dry pump. I didn’t feel like I needed to add a pump product, but adding one wouldn’t be an issue.

Several hours after running this product, I still had great focus and good energy levels. I didn’t experience an elevated heart rate, nor did I see any on a monitor during the cardio session. I never crashed or felt mentally exhausted after, which typically happens with high stimulant junky products. This product was something that hit consistently each time I used it and made a great daily-use product.

Side Effects

The only side effect I experienced was expected due to the inclusion of Gamma Butyrobetaine, which induced sweating followed by cold chills. The advertised reason Klout included this ingredient is for the use of increased nitric oxide production and energy from fat breakdown. I included it in the side effects because Klout does not advertise it as a benefit for sweating or being thermogenic, even though users of this ingredient know how it will make them feel. Additionally, it aided the focus of this product, which I enjoyed, but I understand why some people wouldn’t enjoy experiencing this effect at work.

Flavor

Poison apple is the flavor that I received, which had a clean, crisp apple flavor with a slightly sour finish. I really enjoyed this flavor, and the other flavors offered by Klout also look tasty. The directions suggest mixing one scoop with 8 ounces of water, but I found I enjoyed the flavor more when adding 12-14 ounces.

Dose/Scoop Size

This product’s recommended dosage is 1-scoop. I felt this dosage was appropriate and did not feel the need to increase the dose. With this reformulation, it is 9.61 g, making it a slightly rounded heap of a scoop. This isn’t a product that I feel needs a scale, as you can stick with a heaping scoop and enjoy the product.

Ingredients

While not incredibly long or impressive, the ingredient list for this product is quite unique in its approach. I understand the market has been trending into the stacking realm, in which companies intentionally make a product underdosed on certain ingredients (most commonly pump ingredients) to make you purchase and stack their other products. Most companies do it for many reasons, such as to keep costs down or to profit by selling additional products.

I express this because this profile would appear to be doing just that, but as you have read in the effectiveness section, it is more impressive than the label would indicate. I would normally suggest increasing a few ingredients, but based on effectiveness, it isn’t necessary as I had an excellent experience.

I will point out that this is the reformulated version, in which it appears Klout Pwr removed the L-Arginine, L-Tyrosine, Velvet Bean Extract, and Alpha Yohimbine. Additionally, they replaced the VitaCholine with AlphaSize Alpha-GPC, decreased Niacin from 40 mg to 30 mg, and reduced the Astragin from the clinically effective dose of 50 mg to 25 mg. All of these changes reduced the serving size from 11 g to 9.61 g.

Beta-Alanine – 3.2 g

Beta-Alanine has been shown to support muscular endurance and act as a lactic acid buffer. Depending on the source of this ingredient, you may feel the paresthesias intensify. This feeling is often desirable in the sports community, as it does make you feel the intensity after ingestion and as you start training. This effect may be negated by diet and intake of beta-alanine.

However, beta-alanine requires regular intake to be effective, akin to creatine. Daily supplementation of beta-alanine is recommended, with a loading period of three to five weeks, to become effective.

3 to 4 grams is the recommended daily dosage for beta-alanine, putting Mamba in the standard clinical dose range.

Betaine Nitrate (as NO3-T®) – 1 g

Nitrate (NO3–T) is a small molecule produced in the body in limited amounts (as a byproduct of nitric oxide). It is obtainable via vegetables, particularly beetroot, other low-calorie tuber vegetables such as turnips, and leafy green vegetables such as spinach or rocket.

From Examine, noted benefits of nitrates are reduced blood pressure, improved blood flow and vasodilation, reduced oxygen cost of exercise (allowing you to go longer), and kidney protection.

Sodium Nitrate (as NO3-T®) – 500 mg

According to Examine, the dose of pure nitrates ranges depending on your weight (440-870 mg for a 150 lb person, 580-1160 mg for a 200 lb person, and 730-1450 mg for a 250 lb person).

With Sodium Nitrate being 73% nitrate by volume, the 500 mg included would give you only 365 mg of nitrates.

AlphaSize® (L-Alpha GPC) – 500 mg

Alpha GPC is a cholinergic compound that is produced within the body. It is used for enhancing cognition and increasing power output. Based on several studies, Alpha GPC dosages should be between 300 and 600 mg. At 500 mg, Mamba is in the higher range. It is most likely more effective than the generic Alpha GPC ingredient, as AlphaSize is 100% natural and not synthetically made, which produces zero artifacts or fillers. (Source)

Caffeine Anhydrous – 350 mg

Caffeine anhydrous is the standard form of caffeine, known for increasing energy, alertness, motivation, and mood. This ingredient’s dosage varies widely between products, and the sports supplements market tends to be in the 300-450 mg range.

Finding the right dose for yourself is important, and tolerance buildup can contribute to needing more for similar results. Products often offer a 1-2 scoop formula to help moderate your needs for this specific reason. Although, this product doesn’t support such a dosage scheme as it would negate the intended effects.

Theobromine – 100 mg

Theobromine is a “caffeine light” stimulant ingredient found in chocolate, some tea plants, and the Kola Nut. Its name means “Food of the Gods.” Greek “theo” means gods, and “broma” means food.

Some anecdotal evidence suggests that Theobromine can contribute to mood elevation, focus, and stimulation.

Most doses range from 100-400 mg, so this is within the normal range.

Pink Himalayan Salt – 100 mg

Salt helps retain water, enabling you to achieve a swole look during your workout.

100 mg is a lower dosage for this ingredient, However, it is diet dependent as not everyone will need higher amounts (for comparison, FSU Dyehard has 300 mg, and Hooligan Bare Knuckle has 250 mg).

It also contains essential electrolytes! More info can be found at Supplements in Review.

Di-Caffeine Malate – 50 mg

This ingredient is essentially the “extended-release” form of caffeine. This helps achieve two things: longer-lasting effects of the pre-workout and a smoother ride on the energy train with fewer crashes.

Di-caffeine malate is 75% caffeine and 25% malic acid. A 50 mg dosage yields 37.5 mg of caffeine. Combined with the 350 mg of caffeine anhydrous in this product, the total caffeine dosage in a full serving of Mamba is 387.5 mg.

Gamma Butyrobetaine – 30 mg

Gamma-Butyrobetaine Ethyl Ester Chloride (GBB) is a molecule that is converted to carnitine in the body. This process can support fat loss, increase vasodilation, and increase body temperature. The recommended dosage of GBB is 25-50 mg, which the former could be taken twice daily. Mike from PricePlow provides an excellent breakdown of GBB (Link).

AstraGin® – 25 mg

Like Bioperine (a black pepper extract), AstraGin helps absorb nutrients. 50 mg is the standard dosage for this ingredient; however, we only have 25 mg in Mamba.

Vincamine (as Thinkamine™) – 10 mg

Vincamine is the main ingredient and alkaloid of the lesser periwinkle plant, Vinca minor – a common garden plant.

According to Science Direct, although increased cerebral blood flow has been reported after the intravenous administration of vincamine, there have been no reliable blood flow studies after oral consumption. Improvement in scores on some psychometric tests has been obtained with vincamine in some patients with cerebrovascular disease. No clear-cut practical benefit has been demonstrated.

It has been used for over two decades in certain European countries (e.g., Hungary, Germany, and Poland) and Japan to treat cerebrovascular disease states and associated dementia.

If you attempt to find research on “Thinkamine™,” the only results you’ll find are trademark information.

It’s not known what the required dose is to experience benefits. More information can be found in this link.
