Nuclear Pump is a stim-free pump product supplement from Peak Performance Labs. This pre workout has an incredibly comprehensive label with nearly all ingredients focused on delivering pumps and focus.

Highlights include 8 g L-Citrulline, 3 g Glycerol Powder, 500 mg Pink Salt, 300 mg AmentoPump ™ for pumps, with 3 g L-Tyrosine and 800 mg Alpha GPC for focus. For a stim-free pre-workout, this is nicely well-rounded.

Although I only tried Nuclear Pump just a few times, the pumps were fantastic every single time, regardless of other ingredients I took.

I could easily recommend this to a beginner, someone sensitive to caffeine, someone trying to lower their caffeine tolerance, or someone wanting to add pumps and focus to their workout.

Read on for additional details of my experience, the best prices for the Nuclear Pump stim-free pump product, and a breakdown of its ingredient label.

My Experience

I took Nuclear Pump a few times with different stimulants to see how it worked. The pumps were glorious each time I tried it, and the focus was on point.

Effects

Nuclear Pump is, well, a pump product, the central aspect is the pumps, but as Peak Performance Labs have added nootropics, another facet of this product is the focus.

Before working out on this, I didn’t feel anything. The effects didn’t become apparent until I started lifting. While lifting on Nuclear Pump, I felt I could push out more reps with shorter rest periods. I could quickly feel the pumps were more significant than many other products.

The focus was just as apparent as I’d go from exercise to exercise, just focusing on lifting and lasting the entire workout.

I didn’t experience any negative effects from taking this.

Flavor

The flavor I tried, and the only one available, is Rainbow Candy. It’s a relatively mild flavor, but not bad at all; I’d give it an 8 out of 10 in terms of taste.

Scoop Size

A whole serving is two scoops of 11-grams each. A scoop comes out to be a rounded scoop.

Ingredients

Nuclear Pump Pre Workout Ingredients

L-Citrulline – 8,000 mg

L-Citrulline is one of the most common pre-workout ingredients. It has extensive evidence supporting its effects on increasing nitric oxide production, power output, and endurance.

Although most research uses a variation known as L-Citrulline Malate (2:1), anecdotal evidence supports that L-Citrulline delivers much of the same benefit.

When included as pure L-Citrulline, we like to see 4 grams as the dosage, but Bare Knuckle provides a whopping 8-gram dose, twice the effective dose. This is definitely on the upper end of amounts I’ve seen.

Betaine Anhydrous – 3,000 mg

Betaine is included to help increase your power output. However, research is pretty inconsistent around this claim. 3-grams is a pretty high dose of this ingredient, which typically ranges between 1.5 g and 2.5 grams

Glycerol Powder (Highly-concentrated 65% stable glycerol powder)  –3,000 mg

Glycerol powder assists with hydration and allows the body to absorb more water than it usually would. This helps stave off dehydration and can have mild improvements in endurance.

But the real reason it is often included in pre-workout supplements is that all of this extra water absorption can help your muscles swell up, giving you a “swole” look.

Three grams is a substantial dosage of Glycerol Powder. It usually ranges from 2 to 3 grams per serving in good supplements.

One slight side-effect of glycerol is clumping inside of the tub.

L-Tyrosine – 3,000 mg

L-Tyrosine has been shown to boost cognitive performance in stressful environments. It is typically included in pre-workouts as a focus ingredient.

3,000 mg is an incredible dosage of L-Tyrosine that you’ll find in pre-workouts for achieving any anti-stress effects. It is also beyond the upper bound of the typical dosage range (500 mg to 2,000 mg) for exercise.

This is always an excellent ingredient to see, and I’m impressed with the dosage.

Taurine – 1,500 mg

Taurine is a “miscellaneous” pre-workout ingredient with a range of potential, albeit limited, physical benefits. It can aid blood flow, reduce cramping, and boost antioxidant defense systems (Examine). It’s a pretty insignificant ingredient in pre-workout compared to other components but doesn’t hurt anything either.

Nuclear Pre gives you 1.5-grams, which is a solid dosage of taurine to achieve any effects it has to offer. Usually, other products have 500 mg to 2 grams.

Alpha GPC – 800 mg

L-Alpha GPC creates choline, a molecule associated with increased cognition found naturally in eggs. This is the unique ingredient found in the newest generation of Legion’s Pulse pre-workout(300 mg) and Apollon Nutrition’s Overtime Nootropic (600 mg).

Some early research suggests a notable increase in power output is achieved from Alpha GPC supplementation. (More info: Examine)

It is unclear if 800 mg is sufficient to achieve cognitive improvements. A 2015 study using 250 mg and 500 mg doses did not observe any measurable cognitive improvements in healthy test subjects.

Himalayan Pink Salt – 500 mg

Salt helps retain water, enabling you to achieve a swole look during your workout.

300 mg is an excellent dosage for this ingredient (For comparison FSU Dyehard has 300 mg, and the previous version of Hooligan Bare Knuckle had 250 mg).

It also contains essential electrolytes! (More info: Supplements in Review)

AmentoPump ™ (Selaginella Tamariscina Extract) – 300 mg

Very little is known about this ingredient, including doses.

AmentoPump® is the plant essence of Selaginella tamariscina containing amentoflavone, which enhances strength directly. It has some interesting properties, ranging from increased fat breakdown to vasodilation, which may also increase the body’s ability to get nutrients into muscle cells. AmentoPump® is an incredibly potent and multifunctional ingredient. It has the added benefits for fat loss and insulin sensitivity improving, making it an optimal ingredient in any pre-workout or fat burner.”

Epicatechin (90% Extract from Cocoa Beans) – 300 mg

From NecTac, Epicatechin is a flavonol. It is a naturally occurring compound found in green tea and cacao sources. Noted benefits of Epicathecin, in terms of Nuclear Pump, are increased nitric oxide and more strength.

According to the data available, you’re going to need an Epicatechin dosage of 200 to 250mg per day, so the 300 mg included is more than enough.

Pine Bark Extract – 250 mg

Pycnogenol, the active ingredient in pine bark extract, has been reliably shown to create a notable increase in blood flow. 250 mg is a reasonable dose; just for comparison, the fantastic Sicario has 200 mg, and FSU Dyehard has 300 mg.

Bioperine – 5 mg

Bioperine is just a patented form of black pepper extract. It helps your body absorb nutrients (i.e., all of the stuff in Nuclear Pre).
