Symbiote is a pre-workout supplement from NutriFit. Fueled by 4 g Beta-Alanine, 1 g L-Tyrosine, 400 mg Caffeine, 200 mg Eria Jarensis, 200 mg DMHA, 75 mg Hordenine, and 1 mg Alpha Yo, Symbiote is a powerful stim pre-workout.
This pre-workout had me feeling like a sparkplug.
Due to the stimulants, I would only recommend this supplement for advanced users of pre-workouts.
Read on for additional details of my experience, the best prices for the Symbiote pre-workout, and a breakdown of its ingredient label.
Symbiote from NutriFit is a powerful stim pre-workout. With no ingredients for pumps, it’s fully loaded with focus and energy, and that’s exactly what Symbiote does. Although it’s just focus and energy, both are on the higher end of pre-workouts and, afterward, a nice head-buzz feeling.

My Experience
I took Symbiote several times; each time, the energy was intense, the focus incredible, and it made me sweat up a storm (in a good way).
Effects
The main outcomes for this product are energy and focus.
Within 5 minutes, I felt the Beta-Alanine tingles. They lasted for 30-45 minutes. I would rate it about an 8.5 out of 10 for intensity.
Within 10 minutes, the energy kicked in. It came on strong and smoothed out as I progressed through the workout. The energy lasted for 4-6 hours with a great “head-buzz” afterward for another 2-4 hours.
Symbiote gave me that hyper-tunnel vision-type focus.
After the workout, I felt a nice “head-buzz” and my mood was elevated.
The Alpha Yo effects are average, but if you are sensitive to Alpha Yo, Start with half a serving. There are no adverse side effects.
Flavor
I tried the “Dragon Gummy” flavor. It tasted like a sweet gummy worm flavor. Out of 10, I’d give it nearly a 9. As of now, no other flavors are available.
Scoop Size
A whole serving is 9.5-grams, which comes out to be a dead-flat scoop.
Ingredients
Niacin (Nicotinic Acid) – 40 mg (250% Daily Value)
Niacin, also known as vitamin B-3, has a wide array of benefits ranging from increasing HDL cholesterol (the “good” cholesterol) concentrations, reducing LDL cholesterol concentrations, and reducing the concentration of triglycerides.
Neat! Why is it in a pre-workout? I can’t say for sure, but it’s probably because some research shows niacin can increase blood flow through various mechanisms. The research is limited and conflicted, so niacin is rarely included in pre-workouts.
Niacin also helps your body produce optimal amounts of ATP, which is the energy source for muscle contraction. Thus, making sure you have enough Niacin seems like a worthwhile endeavor for a pre-workout supplement.
40 mg of niacin is a slightly higher dose. It is twice the recommended daily dosage for men (16 mg per day) and women (14 mg per day), but you should be able to get the rest from a healthy diet. Good sources of niacin include fish, beef, chicken, turkey, mushrooms, and brown rice.
Beta-Alanine – 4,000 mg
Beta-alanine has been shown to support muscular endurance and can act as a lactic acid buffer.
However, beta-alanine requires regular intake to be effective, akin to creatine. Daily supplementation of beta-alanine is recommended, with a loading period of three to five weeks needed to be effective.
3 to 4 grams is the recommended daily dosage for beta-alanine, so Symbiote provides the upper end of the dose.
L-Tyrosine – 1,000 mg
L-Tyrosine helps “smooth out” some of the harsher effects of stimulants and increases focus. Limited research also shows it can act as a cognitive booster in stressful environments.
One gram is a decent dosage, and lands within the range recommended for use in an exercise setting
Choline L-Bitartrate – 500 mg
Choline is a focus ingredient and is a chlorogenic source. Compared with Alpha GPC, choline bitartrate may not be as effective as a nootropic (source). This is another potential area of improvement for the product formula.
Doses usually range between 500 mg and upwards of 2,000 mg.
Caffeine Anhydrous – 400 mg
Caffeine needs no introduction, but it’s one of the most researched sports supplements. Most pre-workouts will range between 175 mg and 600 mg (as with the great M2) and 600 mg (with the smoothest Hooligan).
(But, typically, pre-workouts range from 250 to 450 mg)
DMAE (Dimethylaminoethanol) – 350 mg
DMAE is a choline molecule used to treat cognitive decline in elderly patients. It is included in pre-workouts to promote focus and feelings of well-being.
Dosing guidance for performance enhancement is not exceptionally well understood, but 350 mg is a reasonably low dose compared to other pre-workouts that contain DMAE.
Chemix pre-workout contains 400 mg of DMAE (per scoop), while Dark Energy and Zeus contain 750 mg (400-800mg)
Eria Jarensis (N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine) – 200 mg
N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate, aka Eria Jarensis. Eria Jarensis is a stimulant commonly seen alongside DMHA in high stim pre-workouts.
350 mg is in the upper range for the dose of this ingredient. Usual amounts range from 150 mg to 500 mg, as found in Flame Pre Workout (which is terrific).
2-aminoisoheptane – 200 mg
2-Aminoisoheptane, DMHA, Kigelia Africana, Juglans Regia (J. Regia), Octodrine, and Dimethylhexylamine. DMHA is a stimulant, similar to DMAA, for boosting energy, focus, and mood.
200 mg is a standard dose; however, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll “feel” it because it says something on the label.
Hordenine – 75 mg
Hordenine (N, N-dimethyltyramine) is a stimulant often included in recent “nootropic” products. It is not widely researched, so much of the information comes from anecdotal accounts. Typically dosed between 10mg and upwards of 150mg, 75mg is well within usual standards. One study shows that Hordenine is an MAO (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) that lengthens the feeling of energy and mood elevation.
Noopept (N-Phenylacetyl-L-prolyglycine ethyl ester) – 10 mg
Noopept, known as N-Phenylacetyl-L-prolyglycine ethyl ester, is a synthetic nootropic ingredient with cognitive boosting and psychostimulatory effects. It’s in the racetam family of nootropics. In terms of focus ingredients, this is the star of this formula.
10 mg is on the lower end of dosing of noopept and a typical amount for pre-workouts, typically between 10 and 30 mg.
There is some evidence for neuroprotective health (Alzheimer’s Discovery Organization)
Black Pepper (Piper nigrum) [Fruit] Extract [Std. to 95% Piperine as BioPerine ®]
Bioperine, also known as black pepper extract, is an absorption agent. It helps your body properly absorb all of the ingredients within the supplement. Typical products range between 5 and 20 mg, with 5 mg in that range.
Yohimbine – 2 mg
Yohimbine HCl is noted to reduce fat mass in lean and obese individuals. Unfortunately, it can also cause anxiety in some individuals.
Yohimbine aids in fat loss by interacting with catecholamines, similar to EGCG. Yohimbine binds to Alpha-2 receptors instead of the catecholamines, which frees up the catecholamines to bind to beta receptors and help burn more fat cells.
Clinical doses are 0.2 mg of Yohimbine per kg of body weight, a large dosage. While Yohimbine is not uncommon in pre-workout supplements, it is rarely included at such a high dosage. Additional supplementation would be needed for optimal results. Typically you’ll see 1 mg upwards of 10 mg (As seen in Herolean).
Rauwolfia (Rauwolfia Vomitoria) Extract) (Std. to 90% Rauwolscine) (Root Bark) – 1 mg
Rauwolfia Vomitoria Extract, otherwise known as Alpha Yohimbine, or simply “alpha yo,” is a “love it or hate it” stimulant. Some individuals are susceptible to alpha yohimbine and avoid any pre-workout with it outright. Common adverse side effects can include anxiety, headaches, sweating, frequent urination, and increased blood pressure.
If you are sensitive to the effects of Alpha Yo, I’d suggest starting with half a serving just to assess if the effects are too strong for you.
