Zeus is a pre workout supplement from God Status Labz. Called by some as the “legal” replacement for Dark Energy, Zeus is definitely a high stim pre workout supplement.
Powered by 6 g Citrulline Malate 2:1, 3.2 g Beta Alanine, 400 mg Caffeine, 350 mg Beta PEA, 250 mg Eria Jarnesis, 200 mg DMHA, and many other ingredients, this product hits focus, mood, and energy.
I’ve tried it almost half a dozen times, and it felt incredible every time. I could only recommend this for experienced users who’ve taken a high stim product before because it’s even powerful for those who can take their stims (like yours truly).
Read on for additional details of my experience, the best prices for the Zeus pre workout, and a breakdown of its ingredient label.

My Experience:
I took Zeus 5 times, and every time the effects were the same and strong. This is a consistent pre workout that delivers every time.
Effects:
Zeus’ main effects are focus, mood enhancements, and boatloads of energy.
Within 7 minutes, the Beta Alanine tingles come in solid and lasted for a good 30 minutes. Out of 10, the intensity is an 8.
Within 15 minutes, a sense of urgency came over me. This was followed by strong, smooth energy that lasted for at least 5-6 hours.
The last thing to call out here is the hyper-focus.
After 20 minutes of taking the product, a zoned-in type of focus came over me and lasted for the entire workout, especially when specifically lifting weights. If you want to get locked in at the gym, this is for you.
A significant mood elevation came over me throughout my workout, and I was pleased all the time, especially afterward.
No negative side effects were noted.
Flavor:
The flavor I tried was “Godly Gummy,” it was a very mild flavor. There was a hint of a chemical taste but no bitter taste. Out of 10, I’d have to give it a 7. Only one other flavor is available in “Olympus Orange.”
Scoop Size:
A full serving is 14.6 grams, is a SERIOUSLY heaping scoop. A half serving (or two scoops) would be just under a flat scoop.

Zeus Pre Workout Ingredients:

L-Citrulline Malate 2:1 – 6,000 mg
L-Citrulline Malate is one of the most common pre workout ingredients. It has extensive evidence supporting its effects on increasing nitric oxide production, power output, pumps, blood flow, and endurance.
Usually, L-Citrulline Malate has a 2:1 Ratio of Citrulline and Malic Acid (hence the Malate), and with Zeus, you are getting 4g of pure pure pure L-Citrulline, which is the effective dose.
Beta Alanine – 3,200 mg
Beta-alanine has been shown to support muscular endurance and can act as a lactic acid buffer.
However, beta-alanine requires regular intake to be effective, akin to creatine. Daily supplementation of beta-alanine is recommended, with a loading period of three to five weeks needed to be effective.
3 to 4 grams is the recommended daily dosage for beta-alanine. Zeus gives you the typical dose found in other pre workouts of 3.2 g, and the tingles are intense in this product.
Taurine – 2,000 mg
Taurine is a “miscellaneous” pre workout ingredient with a range of potential, albeit limited, physical benefits. It can aid in blood flow, reduce cramping, and boost antioxidant defense systems (Examine). It’s a pretty insignificant ingredient in pre workout compared to other components but doesn’t hurt anything either. Surprisingly enough, it’s used to treat congestive heart failure and hepatitis in a medical setting (WebMD).
Two grams is a solid dosage of taurine to achieve any effects it has to offer. Usually, other products have 500 mg to 2 grams.
DMAE – 750 mg
DMAE is a choline molecule used to treat cognitive decline in elderly patients. It is included in pre workouts to promote focus and feelings of well-being.
Dosing guidance for performance enhancement is not exceptionally well understood, but 750 mg is a pretty hefty dose compared to other pre workouts that contain DMAE.
For reference, Chemix pre workout contains 400 mg of DMAE, while Dark Energy (hint hint) and Assassin V6 contain 750 mg.
Caffeine Anhydrous – 400 mg
The Grand-Daddy of stimulant supplements. It’s in your coffee, your tea, soda, heck, and it may even be in your sweets and gum (some confectioners add caffeine to their sweets for a kick). Well known for increasing energy, power, and focus, it’s the staple ingredient in all stim-based products.
400 mg is on the higher end of the caffeine dose found in other pre-workout supplements, which tend to range from 250 mg to 450 mg (and sometimes far higher such as Hooligan, Assassin, and ESP Extreme). The energy was excellent with no sudden come-down.
Beta Phenethylamine – 350mg per serving
Beta Phenylethylamine (usually shortened to Beta PEA) is a neurotransmitter that inhibits uptake and efflux (i.e., removal) of dopamine, norepinephrine, and serotonin levels (2008 study). It is included here to increase focus and motivation. Typical dosages range between 200 mg and upwards of 600 mg. As MAO-B primarily metabolizes it and rather quickly, it requires an MAO Inhibitor to length the feeling, as stated in this study.
N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate – 250 mg
N-Phenethyl Dimethylamine Citrate, aka Eria Jarensis. Eria Jarensis is a stimulant that is commonly seen alongside DMHA in high stim pre workouts.
250 mg is a suitable dosage for this ingredient. Usual doses range from 150 mg to 500 mg, as found in Flame Pre Workout (which is fantastic).
2-Aminoisoheptane – 200 mg
2-Aminoisoheptane, DMHA, Kigelia Africana, Juglans Regia (J. Regia), Octodrine, and Dimethylhexylamine. DMHA is a stimulant, similar to DMAA, known for boosting energy, focus, and mood.
200 mg is a pretty standard dose; however, just because it says something on the label doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll “feel” it. You will feel it here, which is why it’s included on Lift Vault’s list of best DMHA pre-workouts.
Synephrine – 80 mg
Synephrine is a well-researched ingredient that has been shown to aid in weight loss.
“In general, bitter orange extract alone (p-synephrine) or in combination with other herbal ingredients did not produce significant adverse events such as an increase in heart rate or blood pressure or alter electrocardiographic data, serum chemistry, blood cell counts, or urinalysis. p-Synephrine alone as well as in combination products were shown to increase resting metabolic rate and energy expenditure, and modest increases in weight loss were observed with bitter orange extract/p-synephrine-containing products when given for six to 12 weeks.”
Synephrine Meta-Analysis
80 mg of synephrine found in Zeus is an excellent dosage for fat-burning effects.
GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid) – 50 mg per serving
GABA is a neurotransmitter that is critical for regulating depressive and sedative actions in the brain and general relaxation. It also can enhance the metabolism of growth hormones.
GABA is also included in some pre workouts like Dark Energy to help take the “edge” off higher stimulant doses. This might be the reason why it is included in this formula
By the way, the minimum dose with anecdotal dosage accounts is about 3 grams.
That being said, the new version of Zeus has a slight change of formula, replacing 50 mg Hordenine with 80 mg Synephrine.

Zeus Pre Workout Review
Summary
Zeus pre workout by God Status Labz is a high-stim pre workout that keeps you (figuratively) flying after your workout. It also delivers laser focus and long, long energy. Powered by 6 g Citrulline Malate 2:1, 3.2 g Beta-Alanine, 400 mg Caffeine, 350 mg Beta PEA, 250 mg Eria Jarnesis, 200 mg DMHA, and others, this product is mighty strong even for “stim junkies.” For that reason, I’d only recommend this product for experienced users who’ve taken high stim products before.
At least in comparison to Dark Energy, Zeus is not as strong or as euphoric, but just one small step below.
Pros
- High energy (6-8 hours even doing a 3-hour full-body workout).
- Open-label
- Incredible focus
- Great mood elevation (especially post-workout).
- No crash
- No negative side effects
Cons
- It could benefit from one or two more pump ingredients
