Enjoy the Hysteria is a pre-workout supplement from The Nutrition Store. It contains 3.2 g of Beta-Alanine, 300 mg DMHA, 225 mg of caffeine (from two different sources), and 50 mg of Theophylline. Enjoy the Hysteria provides the energy and focus for almost any workout.

Enjoy the Hysteria is the second in a series of Nutrition Store supplements; the first being “Enjoy the Insanity.”

Both products contain 3.2-grams of Beta-Alanine, two grams of L-Citrulline, 300 mg DMHA, 25 mg Isopropylsynephrine, and 10 mg Piperine 95%.

The newer formula, Enjoy the Hysteria, omits the 200 mg Eria Jarnesis, 150 mg VitaShure (™), 100 mg Caffeine, and 50 mg Halostachine and replaces them with 150 mg Caffeine Anhydrous, 100 mg Di-Caffeine Malate, and 50 mg Theophylline. The caffeine total changes from 190 mg yield to 225 mg yield.

Insanity prompts better focus and an elevated mood, while Hysteria stimulates superior and more intense energy levels.

Due to the 300 mg DMHA, I would only recommend this for advanced users of pre-workouts.

Read on for additional details of my experience, the best prices for the Enjoy the Hysteria pre-workout, and a breakdown of its ingredient label.

Enjoy the Hysteria is the new Enjoy the Insanity. While not creating the euphoric feeling that Insanity prompted, Hysteria brings in much more energy and focus than Insanity. The improved energy is likely due to the increased caffeine (from 190 mg to 225 mg) and theophylline.

My Experience

I tried Enjoy the Hysteria twice, and for comparison, I took Enjoy the Insanity again. While the euphoria is lacking with Enjoy the Hysteria, the energy and focus are most definitely not.

Effects

The main aspects of this pre-workout are energy and focus.

Within 3-5 minutes of taking Enjoy the Hysteria, I felt intense tingles from the beta-alanine. They weren’t as strong as the previous version. I’d give it an 8 out of 10 for intensity.

Within 10 minutes, a sudden, strong sense of urgency and energy came over me. The energy started strongly. However, it soon smoothed out for the rest of my workout and lasted for several hours afterward.

The focus took a while to come around, about 20-25 minutes. When it did, it was a tunnel vision type of focus and lasted the entirety of my workout.

There were no adverse side effects.

Flavor

I tried the “Blue [Grape]rwave” flavor, which initially wasn’t bad. It was a smooth, almost grape-bubblegum type flavor. Unfortunately, the flavor would alternate between a chemical taste to a good taste. Despite having a significant chemical taste, I’d still give it a 6 out of 10.

“Bermuda Bussin Berry Blend” (which on the front shows blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries, alluding to a mixed berry-esque flavor) is the other available flavor.

Scoop Size

A whole serving is 10.64-grams, which comes out to a rounded scoop.

Ingredients

Beta-Alanine – 3,200 mg

Beta-alanine has been shown to support muscular endurance and act as a lactic acid buffer.

However, beta-alanine requires regular intake to be effective, akin to creatine. Daily supplementation of beta-alanine is recommended, with a loading period of three to five weeks needed to be effective.

3 to 4 grams is the recommended daily dosage for beta-alanine, putting the 3.2-grams in Enjoy the Hysteria at the standard dose for pre-workouts.

L-Citrulline – 2,000 mg

L-Citrulline is one of the most common pre-workout ingredients. Extensive evidence supports its ability to increase nitric oxide production, power output, and endurance, making it an essential pump pre-workout ingredient.

Typically the standard dose is between 4 and 10 grams of pure L-Citrulline, putting Enjoy the Hysteria at half the minimum dose.

2-aminoisoheptane – 300 mg

2-Aminoisoheptane, DMHA, Kigelia Africana, Juglans Regia (J. Regia), Octodrine, and Dimethylhexylamine. DMHA is a stimulant, similar to DMAA, that is used for boosting energy, focus, and mood.

300 mg is a relatively high dose; however, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll “feel” it because it says something on the label. I most definitely felt it here Typical dose of DMHA is between 100-300 mg.

Caffeine Anhydrous – 150 mg

Caffeine needs no introduction, but it’s one of the most researched sports supplements. Most fat burners will range between 175 mg (as with the great M2) and 600 mg (as with the smoothest Hooligan).

Typically, pre-workouts range from 250 to 450 mg, putting a total of 225 mg of caffeine just below the typically lowest dose. That being said, I felt long-lasting energy.

Di-Caffeine Malate – 100 mg

Di-Caffeine malate is the “extended-release” version of caffeine. Combined with caffeine anhydrous, it helps extend the effects of a pre-workout and offsets crash effects of high caffeine doses.

Di-Caffeine Malate yields 75% of actual caffeine, meaning you get 75 mg of caffeine from this source for 225 mg.

Theophylline Anhydrous – 50 mg

Theophylline anhydrous is a bronchodilator that treats the symptoms of asthma, bronchitis, and emphysema by making it easier to breathe. It achieves this by opening up the airways in your lungs.

While indeed an atypical ingredient, I have seen it before in Chemix Pre Workout, Red Sky Fat Burner, Pandamic Extreme, and Cannibal Ferox (typically dosed between 25 and 75mg)

Isopropylsynephrine – 25 mg

Isopropylnorsynephrine is a lipolytic agent that helps break down fat into glycerol (energy). It is a “fat burner.” It may also possess energizing effects and is considered stronger than synephrine (bitter orange extract).

There is not a lot of research around dosage, but 25 mg should be enough to be effective.

Synephrine is a well-researched ingredient that has been shown to aid in weight loss.

“In general, bitter orange extract alone (p-synephrine) or in combination with other herbal ingredients did not produce significant adverse events as an increase in heart rate or blood pressure or alter electrocardiographic data, serum chemistry, blood cell counts, or urinalysis. p-Synephrine alone and in combination products were shown to increase resting metabolic rate and energy expenditure, and modest increases in weight loss were observed with bitter orange extract/p-synephrine-containing products when given for six to 12 weeks.”

Synephrine Meta-Analysis

Piperine 95% – 10 mg

Piperine, also known as black pepper extract, is an absorption agent. It helps your body properly absorb all of the ingredients within the supplement. Typical products range between 5 and 20 mg, putting the 10 mg included in Enjoy the Hysteria right in that range.

  • Get-up-and-Go feeling
  • Great focus
  • Multi-source caffeine

Cons

  • Lacks pumps.
  • Lacks the euphoria from the previous version.
